Nestl é expands the scale of purchasing coffee beans in China and is optimistic about the Chinese market.
Yunnan Pu'er is an important planting base of Nestle Coffee, and the settlement of Nestle Coffee Center seems reasonable. Statistics show that there are about 123000 farmers in Yunnan, planting an area of about 124000 hectares of coffee, while the annual output of raw coffee beans is 70, 000 to 100000 tons.
The Nestle Coffee Center, completed on March 23 in Pu'er City, covers an area of 30,000 square meters. According to the project planning, the center is divided into two major functional areas, one is the Nestle Coffee planting and training Center and the raw coffee bean testing room, providing exchange and training for farmers, agronomists and coffee professionals; the other part is the quality assurance laboratory and integrated processing and storage facilities. Nestl é also said that with the continuous growth of local coffee bean production, the coffee center will provide production and processing facilities to ensure coffee bean procurement, as well as high-quality procurement and testing benchmarks based on international standards. It is reported that the annual storage capacity of Nestle Coffee Center will reach 10000 tons.
Construction of the Nestle Coffee Center, invested by Nestl é, began in Pu'er in March last year and was scheduled to be put into use during the 2015-2016 coffee purchasing season. In fact, Nestl é has promoted the cultivation of coffee in Pu'er for nearly 30 years. For Pu'er, coffee has gradually become one of its representative industries, and is therefore known as the "coffee capital of China". According to the analysis, the completion of the Nestle Coffee Center will promote the coffee industry in Yunnan and Pu'er, as well as expand the scale of coffee beans purchased in China.
China will become Nestle's largest coffee market
However, Nestl é does not operate any of its own commercial coffee plantations around the world, but helps market countries become producers of value-added products and raw materials.
The coffee beans needed by Nestl é's two production plants in Dongguan and Laixi, Shandong, come from the Yunnan planting base. Nestl é has set up 26 Nestle coffee plants around the world, including two in China. In China, Nestl é not only buys coffee beans in Yunnan, but also sets up coffee production plants in Dongguan and Laixi, Shandong.
At present, in addition to Nestl é Coffee Center, which studies coffee quality in Yunnan Pu'er, Nestl é has formed an R & D network in China, with R & D centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Dongguan. Nestl é Dongguan R & D Center, which mainly develops candy flavors and so on, has settled in the Dongguan production base of Xu Fuji.
Nestl é's R & D network in China has covered the products of wholly-owned companies and joint ventures. Zhang Guohua, president of Nestl é Greater China, said that the R & D network in China does not only do research on technological production methods, but also uses concepts to develop new products because Nestl é focuses on understanding changes in consumers' tastes and consumers' pursuit of changes.
As the leader of the coffee market, Nestl é attaches great importance to the Chinese market. Paul Bokai, CEO of Nestl é, believes that China's coffee market has great potential and room for development, and different coffee formats have been well developed. "there is no doubt that for Nestle coffee, the Chinese market will be the biggest market for Nestle coffee.
