Description of Panamanian Rosa Coffee Bean Flavor and Taste introduction to the graded Brand of Rosa Village Coffee
Qianjie Coffee often meets rookies who have just come into contact with boutique coffee. Surprisingly, even if they haven't drunk it, they all hear about Rose Summer Coffee. Qianjie believes that it is precisely because the rose summer variety of coffee is synonymous with high price and high quality in the field of boutique coffee, so it will be famous.
But what makes Rosa Coffee a household name? Going back to the 2004 Panamanian Best Coffee Bean Competition, the judges kept tasting and confirming in front of a coffee bean because they drank Panamanian coffee with a floral and fruity rhyme that had never been seen before, as if someone had mixed Essel beans into it. After verification, it turned out that this bean was submitted by the Petersons of the Emerald Manor, and this coffee bean is called Geisha.
Rosa has a long history. After consulting the Qianjie Coffee, the Rosa variety first came to the Gori Gesha Forest in Ethiopia. In the 1830s, British Consul Richard collected Rosa coffee from Ethiopia. The variety finally landed at the Centre for Tropical Agricultural Research and higher Education (CATIE) in Costa Rica in the 1950s, and in the 1960s, a government official from the Panamanian Ministry of Agriculture came to CATIE, Costa Rica, in search of disease-resistant coffee varieties and tried to grow them in the country. He came back with some rosy summer varieties of coffee and distributed them to Poquet's farm-one of which was Haramillo.
The Jadeite Manor acquired Haramiyo Manor and merged it into the Emerald Manor to become its sub-manor. Son Daniel Peterson found a kind of coffee tree with slender and sparse branches growing on the manor. After a series of studies, it found that the flavor of this coffee tree planted above 1500 meters was excellent. So they tried to cultivate it carefully until the coffee bean, Rose Xia, won the championship on BOP in 2004 and became popular quickly.
From then on, not only did the rose summer of the Emerald Manor become an internationally famous coffee bean, but the campaign for raw coffee sold for hundreds of dollars per pound, breaking the auction record for raw beans at that time. And farmers all over the world are interested in Rosa coffee. Coffee seeds and saplings of rose varieties have been introduced into Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and other Central and South American countries.
The success of Panamanian Rose Summer Coffee has also led some experts to trace it back to Rose Summer, which they found was picked by British officers in a forest called Gesha in Ethiopia in 1931. As a result, many coffee hunters went to Ethiopia in search of rose summer. In 2007, Adam and William went to the Gesha Forest in search of Rose Summer, and they found several coffee trees similar to the shape and flavor of Panama Rose Summer. He found suitable land in the area to grow Rosa Coffee and established the Rosa Village Manor, which is located about 12 miles from the Gori Gesha Forest.
Qianjie Coffee has bought all series of coffee beans in Rosa Village. By comparing Rosa Village and Panamanian Rosa Coffee Raw beans, Qianjie believes that although they have the same name, they are actually completely unrelated beans, which can be completely distinguished from the appearance of the two raw coffee beans.
Let's start with the coffee in front of the street to discuss the rose summer coffee of Ethiopia.
The coffee grade of the village is similar to that of the Panamanian emerald estate: Jinbiao (rare) these coffees account for 10% of the total output of the village. They are the top coffee produced by the village outside the auction house and are often chosen by internationally competitive baristas to participate in the competition. Red mark (grower's reserve), which accounts for 15% of coffee production, gets 88 points or more in SCA's 100-point seed production. Green sign (single soil), these plots are from a single block of Ruoxia Village. Complete traceability information for each batch number in a single clay series, including farm block name, coffee variety and processing date. The Chaka series is a boutique coffee that mixes all the agricultural blocks and the whole season of the Rosa Village Manor.
The most famous manor of Panamanian Rosa Coffee is the Emerald Manor. At the Emerald Manor, they devote a lot of time to the details and fine processing that distinguish them from other varieties of raw coffee beans.
After the 2004 event and the official appearance of a geisha at the best auction in Panama, Peterson focused most of his efforts on developing the infrastructure to support excellent batch separation, meticulous handling and healthy auction formats. With the rise of auction prices, the demand for experiments such as natural processing is also increasing, and the specificity of batches is getting higher and higher.
At the Jade Manor, Rosa is divided into three grades: blue, green and red. The Emerald Manor spends a lot of effort on distinguishing the rosy summer plots, which are mainly divided into three plots, namely, Haramillo, Cannes Vidis, and the veil. On each large parcel, there is a fine distinction between small parcels (a total of 22 parcels). Until now, the Emerald Manor has been expanding to find tiny plots more suitable for rose summer planting. In 2022, the Emerald Manor bought a new manor, called Spring Manor.
With regard to the flavor of Rosa Coffee, Qianjie Coffee believes that the dry aroma of Rose Summer is very bright, with the characteristics of rose and jasmine, as well as honey grapefruit and citrus aromas. Light baking has nutty aromas; wet aromas also have hazelnut flavors, and more floral traits emerge.
As for the taste of Rosa Coffee, the entrance will be mild and reserved, a little cooler, the flower and fruit flavor will gradually increase as the temperature drops, and the cold aroma is excellent (sweet preserved fruit, rose fruit, orange glaze jam, strawberry jam, silk pine, cherry, vanilla, rose flavor gradually fade, lemon aromas can be derived). This is a kind of coffee that can be praised with a lot of adjectives. I have a strong sense of sweetness.
