Burundi, formerly known as Uruidi, formed a feudal kingdom in the 16th century. It was invaded by Britain, Germany and Belgium in the middle of the 19th century, and then fell under the control of the Belgian army in 1916. Rwanda-Wulong, which was merged by the League of Nations after World War I, was distributed to Belgium, while coffee was brought to Burundi by Belgium in 1930, and coffee production became private when Burundi became independent in 1960. Although it became state-run after 1970 and gradually returned to private hands in 1991, it was the peak of coffee production in Burundi in the 1980s, which fell sharply as a result of the civil war in the country. until now gradually began to recover, in the Chinese market also gradually can see Burundian beans, and generally high praise.

Burundi has no specific production areas because of its size, and it is grown by small farmers, basically around the 160 wet treatment plants in the country. And these wet treatment plants will organize their own integrated units (wet treatment plant management association), so basically beans in Burundi can only be traced back to the management association, that is, their country of origin.

Burundian coffee bears a striking resemblance to neighboring Rwanda, where coffee from the two countries is often confused. Burundian coffee is mainly grown in bourbon, with traditional wet processing of coffee cherries. Its boutique coffee is characterized by elegant sweetness and bright citrus aromas. This batch belongs to bourbon species micro batch.

It is generally recognized as the best coffee processing plant in Burundi.
