Background:

Rich, mellow is the French press pot characteristics, some people think too much miscellaneous flavor, but in fact the successful French press pot taste should be very pure. The French press apparatus consists of a long glass and a lid with a strainer. It should be noted that French press can easily over-extract, so it is best to pour coffee from the press immediately after extraction.

Step 1

Boil about 400 ml of water.

Step 2

Grind beans while boiling water. French press requires coarser particles. It is generally recommended that the ratio of coffee powder to water is 1:10, and 400 ml of water requires about 40 grams of coffee beans.

Step 3

Place the press pot on the electronic scale and add the ground coffee. Start by adding twice as much water to the coffee beans. For example, 40 grams of coffee beans requires about 80 grams of water.

Step 4

Gently stir the coffee powder back and forth with a wooden stirring spoon or chopsticks, a bit like paddling in a rafting boat. At this point, the coffee powder will begin to swell, which takes about 30 seconds.

Step 5

After waiting for the coffee powder to swell, add the remaining water and cover. Do not press the filter down at this time, wait for 4 minutes. Four minutes. No less.

Step 6

Move the filter pot away from the scale and slowly press the filter down. The force required to press down is about 7-9 kg. If the resistance encountered is too small, the coffee powder particles are too coarse; if the resistance is too large, the coffee powder particles are too fine.

The coffee must be poured immediately after the filter is pressed to the bottom, otherwise it will cause excessive coffee extraction.

Step 7

Enjoy your delicious coffee.
