Guatemala is one of the most important coffee producing countries in Central America in terms of yield and quality. at present, the coffee producing areas of the country are distributed in eight regions: Antigua, Arcatel Nanguo, Attilan, San Marcos, New Oriental, Koban, Farahannis, Vivette Nanguo. Among them, five major producing areas are volcanic geology, and the other three major producing areas are non-volcanic geology.

New Oriental (New Oriente) is a volcanic geology developed relatively late among the eight major producing areas in Guatemala. The soil is composed of uniformly mixed mineral metamorphic rocks. The coffee produced comes from small estates owned by small families. In recent years, it has become more and more famous and the market demand has increased greatly. The farms that used to grow other crops in the region have changed to grow coffee.

This bean from the New Oriental Cadilas Manor is a Pacas variety, a Bourbon mutant of the genus Bourbon. It was first found in El Salvador in 1949 compared with bourbon. The biggest difference is that the plant is shorter and results in clusters. The Pacas variety is also often used for breeding, of which the most famous is Pacamara, which is the hybrid offspring of Pacas and Maragogype.
