Introduction of Biya Manor
The Las Minas Mountains are located in eastern Guatemala and contain countless treasures belonging to Guatemala. In addition to the natural forest ecosystem and wildlife, it is rich in gold deposits and jade veins, making the treasures of the Las Minas Mountains famous throughout Central America. In order to protect this mountain forest, the Las Minas Mountains are now planned as a Guatemalan national park.
In the early days, because of its high altitude and latitude, the Las Minas Mountains were located in the cold, which made it impossible to grow coffee. However, with the influence of Greenhouse Effect, high-altitude boutique coffee cultivation is gradually being found in the Las Minas Mountains, of which the most famous is this Biya Manor (La Bella).
Bella, which means "beautiful woman" in Spanish, also accurately describes this beautiful manor. Pia Manor was one of the first estates to grow high-altitude boutique coffee in the Las Minas Mountains, and this emerging micro-producing area began to have a place in the C.O.E Cup after it came to prominence in Guatemala. Located on the southern slopes of the Las Minas Mountains, the volcanic island chain in southern Guatemala insulates moisture from the Pacific Ocean, while the mountains to the north block moisture from the Atlantic Ocean, making the microclimate very dry. However, Biya Manor has unique conditions, there is a gurgling mountain spring in the manor, so that the manor has abundant water throughout the year, irrigation and excellent washing treatment.
After four generations of efforts of the manor family, Biya Manor now has outstanding experience and wisdom in seed selection, planting, harvest and treatment. At the same time, the manor attaches great importance to environmental conservation: the use of solar-driven drying facilities, recycling water, earthworm incubation trough (natural composting to enhance soil fertility); and strive to improve the quality of life of manor workers: to provide medical assistance, education, living environment and related social welfare services.
Vera Saqi (Villa Sarchi) is a new variety naturally mutated from Bourbon. Driven by the new variety program of the Guatemalan Coffee Association, the chief manors in various producing areas have gradually begun to try out the trial planting and harvest of Vera Saatchi's new varieties in recent years. Biya Manor is one of the successful cases. Guatemala's high-altitude high-quality boutique coffee is honored for its richness, sweet and sour balance, cleanliness and sweetness; the Vera Saatchi variety of Biya Manor is a classic. Dry aromas of nuts and dark chocolate, with a sweet and sour balance between dark peaches and plums and sugar on the palate.
