Mabis (MAVIS BANK CENTRAL FACTORY)
In 1923, Mr. CECIL VICTOR MUNN started his business on five acres.
In 1885, Mr CECIL VICTOR MUNN, an immigrant from England, began his coffee growing career in Stule Mountain in the Blue Mountains. His son Victor inherited his career and won a better sunshine than Mount Stuart. Now, the transportation from Meibis to Kingston is very convenient, but at that time, the donkey carried the coffee beans.
Geographically, the Meibis refinery is located about 700 meters from the Blue Mountains of Stule Mountain. The fresh coffee fruit used in the Maybis factory is bought from farmers 2000 feet to 5000 feet above sea level, or even 5550 feet above sea level.
Coffee is harvested from October to early December each year, and from February to April of the following year.
Blue Mountain Coffee was first exported to Japan in 1953. So far, total exports of Blue Mountain No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and PB beans have averaged 5300 barrels per year.
It reaches 6000 barrels at its highest and 4000 barrels at its lowest.
MBC Coffee Factory is the largest and only fully integrated Blue Mountain Coffee Factory in Jamaica. About 1.4 million pounds of mung beans from more than 6000 farmers are processed here every year.
Marvis Bank is still a place where time seems to come to a standstill. Modern amenities sit quietly in unspoiled terrain and are a corner of the world. Simple sounds and the slightest temperature change are amplified. Like the ultimate combination of ideal height, mineral-rich soil, soft clouds, mountains and plenty of sunlight, blue mountain berries take longer to ripen than others. More time, some people claim that its rich flavor and aroma develop. Others believe that more time is for the evolution of its signatory. All our coffee is processed in the Mavis Bank Coffee Factory.
