Coffee farmers in the Brunca region of Costa Rica have traditionally belonged to cooperatives, with the exception of Senel Campos, whose first micro-batch last year distinguished his batches from co-operative products. Three years ago, he set up a microprocessing plant out of his own pocket, processed his own coffee and worked with his son Allan.
Bronga is located in a very remote producing area of Costa Rica, and even the average Costa Rican rarely visits it. Farmers in Sainai are on very steep slopes, so it is extremely difficult to harvest cherries. Before growing coffee, he used to work in the cattle industry and knew little about coffee. But when he started growing coffee seven years ago, he listened to agronomists, experts and neighbors to learn how to grow and handle it. At the beginning, it only produced ordinary coffee beans, and after having its own processing plant, it began to produce high-quality coffee and made rapid progress. In addition to washing, he will also experiment with different treatments, including honey treatment and sun exposure.
This is the coffee in Per Nordby's second year of roasting. This Kaduai is treated with honey.
