Too much American coffee is not good.
No milk, no sugar "Many people worry about getting fat, and when choosing coffee, they choose American coffee, commonly known as black coffee. However, a survey by the Consumer Protection Department of the Executive Yuan found that American coffee has a high caffeine content. The large cup of American coffee sold by Eco Coffee contains 310 mg of caffeine. As long as you drink one cup, you will overdose.
The EU Food Science Expert Committee assessed that the daily intake of caffeine should be below 300 mg. If excessive intake is taken, it may lead to osteoporosis, palpitations, insomnia and other risks. Patients with cardiovascular diseases, arrhythmia, gastrointestinal diseases, chronic insomnia, pregnant women and children should avoid drinking.
In order to ensure the health of the Chinese people, the Consumer Protection Office of the Executive Yuan, together with the Food and Drug Administration, sampled 80 freshly brewed coffees from 20 stores in 10 companies at the end of May this year. The results showed that American coffee has much higher caffeine than latte coffee.
At a press conference, an official from the Executive Yuan's Consumer Protection Office revealed that a 300 c. c. large cup of American coffee sold by the well-known Eco Coffee House in Taiwan contained as much as 310 mg of caffeine. After drinking one cup, it exceeded the daily intake limit of 300 mg.
As the number of coffee drinkers in the mainland is increasing year by year, the head of the Food Division of the Food and Drug Administration, Cai Shuzhen, reminds consumers to recognize the information provided by the package label when purchasing and consume caffeinated drinks in moderation.
The caffeine content of freshly brewed coffee is affected by different coffee bean varieties, sources, brewing technology and models, and the caffeine content varies greatly. Health authorities, in coordination with the Consumer Protection Department of the Executive Yuan, advised coffee makers to distinguish caffeine content by red, yellow and green marks.
Red represents more than 200 mg of caffeine per cup, yellow represents 100 to 200 mg of caffeine per cup, and green represents less than 100 mg of caffeine per cup.
Cai Shuzhen suggested that consumers should drink coffee drinks no more than one cup a day under the red label or three cups a day under the green label. People can measure their coffee consumption and health through information on product labels. If osteoporosis has occurred, drink coffee, should be more calcium supplement, so as not to aggravate calcium loss.
