Take a sip and stir! The right way to drink mocha Coffee

For many people, struggling with the early morning or finding their attention span diminishing during the day, coffee is often an energy booster. However, if caffeine is an important part of your daily routine, you may want to (occasionally) consider upgrading your order to Mocha.

The study found that in a mocha, the combination of chocolate and caffeine increased alertness and focus, while reducing anxiety levels. Before we studied, it was worth noting that the study was conducted under the auspices of Chocolate, one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in North America.

This study

Scientists at Clarkson University in New York and the University of Georgia have found that cocoa (the main ingredient in chocolate) increases alertness-but its quality also increases when mixed with caffeine.

In the nearly year-long experiment, volunteers drank cocoa powder, caffeine cocoa, caffeine or a placebo. Participants were then asked to complete a selection task to test their cognitive function and emotion.

The results showed that the combination of cocoa and caffeinated drinks provided the best results for motivation, emotion and attention. Researcher Ali Boolani explained:

"Cocoa increases cerebral blood flow, cognition and attention. only caffeine can increase anxiety. this particular project found that cocoa reduced the effects of caffeine anxiety.

He added:

"the test results are certainly promising and show that cocoa and caffeine are good choices for students and others who need more sustained attention."

Although this study provides a good excuse to indulge in delicious coffee chocolate combinations from time to time, it is important to remember that when compared with other caffeinated drinks, such as black coffee or tea, a cup of sugar and calories can be high.

In fact, a 2016 report shows that Starbucks' white chocolate mocha and whipped cream contain 18 tablespoons (73.8g) of sugar-more than half the daily guide amount (90g for women and 120g for men). In contrast, KFC's Mocha and Starbucks signature hot chocolates are also significantly high in sugar content, both of which are estimated to contain 15 tablespoons (58.8g) per service.

At the time of the report, researcher Kawther Hasjim called on coffee shop chains to reduce sugar in their drinks and improve labels. In a conversation with BBC, she said:

"these hot seasoned drinks should be occasional treats, not daily drinks. They are rich in sugar and calories, often accompanied by high-sugar and fat snacks.

Eating too much sugar can lead to weight gain, which in turn increases your risk of health conditions such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes. It is important to limit your intake of excessive sugar-for example, only drink sugary drinks, each often, choose a non-creamy option or go to a darker chocolate, which has fewer additives-and keep the product label for the eyes.
