Many guests will like to go to the coffee shop to buy coffee beans and drink them themselves. sometimes they don't have all the coffee-making utensils at home. Should they choose to grind them on the spot when buying coffee beans? I'd better not have my personal opinion.

Ground coffee, because the area of reaction with air is much larger, so it changes very quickly, and the relative preservation time is not as long as coffee beans.

Roasted coffee beans are most afraid of the following elements: oxygen (air), moisture, light, heat and smell. Oxygen spoils the coffee tofu, moisture washes away the aroma oil from the coffee surface, and other elements interfere with the internal reaction of the coffee beans, eventually affecting the flavor of the coffee. On the other hand, everyone's extraction method is different, a coffee bean, you can according to the cooking method, you can adjust the grinding degree to achieve the ideal taste in the cup.

How should I store the coffee beans when I buy them home? After opening the roasted coffee beans, it is easy to oxidize with the oxygen in the air, deteriorate the oil, disappear the fragrance, and then accelerate the deterioration through temperature, humidity, sunlight and other factors.

This is why we can smell the obvious aroma when we first open a bag of coffee, and with the passage of time, the aroma will become weaker and weaker, and the flavor will gradually fade away.

Therefore, the preservation of coffee beans must require a low-oxygen, dry, low-temperature, light-proof environment.

Freshly roasted coffee beans can be kept at room temperature for about two weeks, and the change in the taste of coffee in these two weeks is the most interesting process.

Just baked the first day, its taste is not very mature, you may smell grass, baking fragrance. On the other hand, the charming sweetness of coffee beans is not strong enough, and you will feel that its taste is "stuffy". In the next few days, the smell of grass will slowly decrease, while the sweet smell will slowly rise. The sweet smell reached its peak on about the third day, and then slowly faded.

Just like the fruit we just bought, it is not ripe at first, but the flavor and sweetness of kiwi fruit will be better after putting it at room temperature for a while. Of course, it will rot if you leave it for too long. Put it in a cool, dry place.

High temperature is easy to volatilize the aroma of coffee and the excellent substances inside coffee beans, so coffee cans should be avoided in a hot environment, preferably in a cool and dry place.

Can I store coffee beans in the refrigerator?

It is true that the low temperature in the refrigerator can slow down the natural deterioration of coffee, and it is a good storage place, but there are many situations in the environment in the refrigerator, which must be eliminated in order to effectively protect coffee beans; otherwise, it will be counterproductive.

The air in the refrigerator is cold and dry, which is easy to evaporate the moisture in the beans, resulting in the loss of fragrance; in addition, there are too many miscellaneous smells in the refrigerator, so it is more suitable to use vacuum cans to preserve coffee beans.

When coffee beans are just taken out of the refrigerator, because the temperature of the beans is too low, they will condense water vapor in the air and form small water droplets on the surface. After grinding, these droplets will form coffee powder into lumps, resulting in uneven brewing.

Therefore, coffee beans should be taken out of the refrigerator before use, and after some of them are removed, put the vacuum cans back into the refrigerator as soon as possible, and grind and brew coffee quickly. If the whole bag of coffee beans is no longer put back in the refrigerator, it should be taken out 1 hour before use and unsealed after returning to normal temperature at room temperature. In this way, the surface of the coffee beans will not condense water droplets.

In addition, as the internal development of coffee is still in progress after roasting, if the freshly baked beans are put in the refrigerator, the development of flavor will stop. Therefore, it is suggested that you should keep the freshly baked coffee in a proper environment and store it in the freezer after 2-3 days after its flavor has been developed.
