Rosa participated in the auction in 2004, and the auction war has pushed Rosa to an astonishing price. Looking back at the 2017 Panamanian boutique coffee auction, a batch of sun roses from the Emerald Manor sold for a whopping $601 / lb, almost double the price of previous coffee bean auctions. In other words, the price of a kilogram of raw beans is as high as 8900 yuan. The 2018 Jade Red Rose Summer bid was $340 / lb, which was won by HARU International Corp, while the other bids were $80-100 / lb. By 2019, the highest bid was more than $1029 / lb.

The foliar system of Rosa coffee tree is very thin, that is to say, the efficiency of photosynthesis is very low, the root is still very fragile, and the absorption of water and nutrients is very slow, so the yield of coffee is very low, coupled with the high altitude growth environment, the fruit ripens later. The fruit yield of a rose coffee tree is only half that of the Kaddura variety, and the higher cost of manual care is one of the reasons why Rosa is so valuable.
How did Rose Summer become popular?
Rosa Coffee has today's ultra-high reputation, which Qianjie believes is largely due to the Emerald Manor in Panama. Daniel, the third-generation owner of the Jade Manor, said that it was only after years of comparison and testing that he finally locked in this variety in 2003. Two weeks before the 2003 Best Panama Competition (BOP), when selecting the entries on the internal cup test table, it was found that Rosa Variety had outstanding flavors such as jasmine, citrus, peach, blueberry, bergamot, sugar cane and other outstanding flavors, which were different from those in the coffee circle at that time, but Daniel still chose to compete with Rosa variety and won the first prize in the competition.
In 2005, General Rose Xia of Emerald Manor participated in the evaluation of the American Fine Coffee Association, that is, SCAA, beat many star seed contestants, won the honor of world-class boutique coffee, and won the world champion in 2006 and 2007, so he once again received the attention of the world coffee people. Since then, coffee producing areas around the country began to introduce rose summer, including our country Yunnan also began to plant this popular variety. Although rose summer can be produced all over the world, Qianjie believes that as the discoverer of rose summer flavor, jadeite manor not only checks the quality of coffee produced, but also uses natural treatment to show the classic "rose summer flavor".
Where can I find a cost-effective Rosa coffee?
Panama is a famous place for rose summer, and the rosy summer coffee produced by mature planting technology and processing techniques still has a good reputation in the industry, so Qianjie launched a cost-effective rosy summer coffee from Pokuit, which is washed with water. After washing, the selected coffee cherries are put into the peeling machine to remove the peel and pulp initially; the coffee beans with residual pectin are put into the water and let them ferment for about 24 hours; after fermentation, the coffee beans with parchment are washed in a flow tank to remove their pulp and pectin; after cleaning, the coffee beans are dried or dried with the help of a dryer to reduce the moisture content to about 12%. Shallow roasting does not significantly change the internal structure of coffee beans, so Qianjie baristas use higher water temperatures and finer grinding to stimulate the aroma of roses.
