Sumatra is a green island with all kinds of tropical plants covering the whole territory and full of vitality. The overlapping mountains are flooded by primeval forests, and the river as flat as a mirror is surrounded by tall coconut trees, whether cities, villages, fields and roads are soaked in the green sea. The green sea and blue sky constitute a harmonious and beautiful picture, which has become an immutable and beautiful landscape of Sumatra, leaving a deep impression on tourists.

The western half of the mountain runs through, there are more than 90 volcanoes, the highest peak Gelingchi volcano, 3805 meters above sea level. The eastern half is the plain, wide in the south and narrow in the north, and the widest point is more than 100 kilometers. There are many rivers, such as the Moussi River, the Batamhari River, the Indra Jiri River, the Gamba River and so on. Rich tropical forests with a coverage of 60%.

Although Sumatra has a long coastline, it lacks a good natural port. The reason is that it is often attacked by the "Indian Ocean surf". A high-rolled surf is pushed ashore in a long row or two or three rows, which is so powerful that it can lift a fishing boat to the top of the wave and then overturn and fall. Due to the existence of the phenomenon of "surging waves in the Indian Ocean", there are almost no natural ports in the two main islands of Sumatra and Java.

Starbucks Coffee Bean Mount Kerinci, located in Padang, Sumatra.

Mount Glinchi, also translated as Crissy, is the highest volcano in Indonesia and the highest peak in Sumatra. It is located in Zhangbei province in central Sumatra, 130km from Padang, and is the most active volcano in Indonesia. The crater at the top is 600m deep.

Glinchi Volcano is an active volcano in the Parisan Mountains in West Sumatra, Indonesia, located southeast of Padang City on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The island is the sixth largest island in the world and the highest peak in Sumatra, with nearly 100 volcanoes running through the mountains in the western half, 3805 meters above sea level. There is a large caldera.

Gunung kerinci is actually a place name, Glinchi, Sumatra.

Mount Kerinci, the highest volcano in Indonesia and the highest peak in Sumatra (3805 m), is located in the southeast of Jambi, Sumatra.

The area where the volcano is located is also the largest protected forest in Southeast Asia, known as Kerinci Seblat National Park, the largest national park in Indonesia. The most interesting thing is that Mount Glinchi is still an active volcano.

The top crater is 500 meters in diameter and about 600 meters deep, but the most recent eruption was in 2004.

In 2009 Sirup Mawardi an agronomist at the Starbucks Coffee growers support Center in Sumatra began to cultivate a variety of Arabica coffee seedlings called Agung Sari in the active volcanic region of Glinchi which can not only improve the resistance of coffee trees to diseases and insects but also significantly increase their yields.

FSC growers support the center to cultivate healthy seedlings and give them to coffee farmers free of charge to ensure the yield and quality of coffee trees.

Local farmers began to turn to high-quality Arabica coffee to make full use of the volcanic soil, which is an excellent growing environment, and can also get more economic returns.

Now, ten years later, the coffee beans produced by Glinchi in Sumatra are purchased from about 680 small farmers in the region. There are no large-scale estates in Sumatra, and most of the coffee beans come from such backyard farmers. this is also the origin of Indonesia's unique semi-washing treatment showing the fragrance of earth herbs.

Padang (Padang)

Padang is located on the west coast of Sumatra, the second largest island in Indonesia. Padang is the capital and largest city of West Sumatra. The time difference between Padang and Malaysia is one hour.

The most famous coffee in Sumatra is Mandenin coffee, which is special because of its mellow taste, unique herbal and earthy taste.

Qianjie Coffee recommends brewing Sumatran coffee beans:

1. Utensils: KONO filter cup, kalita three-hole ladder filter cup, flannel

2. Water temperature: 84-86 ℃

3. Degree of grinding: moderate grinding

4. Powder-water ratio: 1:13-1:14

5. Extraction time: about one minute and fifty seconds

Qianjie coffee analysis: because Starbucks Sumatra coffee beans are roasted deeply, and the taste of Sumatran coffee beans is mellow, and the flavor will favor chocolate, nuts and caramel, Qianjie coffee suggests to use semi-immersed coffee filter cups such as KONO filter cup and kalita three-hole ladder filter cup to brew coffee. At the same time, choose a lower water temperature with a thicker degree of grinding to reduce the probability of coffee over-extraction. On the other hand, a small proportion of powder and water can increase the taste of the coffee and avoid the situation that it is easy to overextract when it is extracted to the later stage.
