What's the difference between iced coffee, iced coffee and cold coffee?

Summer is coming, iced coffee, as a good product for relieving summer heat, is very popular with curry fans.

In fact, we usually drink a lot of iced coffee, but there are three main types, which you need to distinguish clearly:

1. Iced coffee

Iced coffee

Iced coffee should be said to be the most conventional iced coffee model, which usually uses hot water to extract coffee powder through tools such as hand-brewed coffee or espresso machine, and then pours the extracted hot coffee into a container containing ice cubes to cool down quickly.

In fact, like Starbucks' Frappuccino series, it is essentially a mixture of "fancy" iced coffee, ice cubes, espresso base, milk, sugar and other seasonings.

In fact, chilled coffee is still extracted at high temperature, but the very hot coffee liquid is physically cooled very quickly with the help of ice.

Ice drop Coffee

Ice drop coffee

Ice drop coffee refers to the use of ice water at or below normal temperature for a long time (usually a few hours) to filter the coffee.

Different from hot water extraction, the bitter substances extracted by normal temperature water and ice water are much less, and by prolonging the extraction time, reducing the flow rate and fully infiltrating the coffee powder, the extracted coffee is smoother in taste, stronger in aroma and sweeter.

Because the extraction time of ice drop coffee is very long, deep-baked Kenya beans, Indonesian beans or special ice drop beans are usually used, and very fine grinding is generally used to achieve full infiltration.

Third, cold extract coffee

Coffee cold extract bottle

Like ice drop coffee, cold extract coffee is extracted at low temperature, and the type and grinding degree of coffee powder used are the same as ice drop coffee, but cold extract coffee is sealed in disposable filter bags and put into sealed bottles containing ice water. some sealed bottles are equipped with filtering devices, which can be used instead of disposable filter bags, and then refrigerated in the refrigerator for at least eight hours. You can enjoy it.

Although it is also extracted at a low temperature, cold-extracted coffee is much more bitter than ice-drop coffee, and its sweetness is greatly reduced.

If we want to make a taste comparison of the above three kinds of iced coffee, then ice drop coffee is better than cold extract coffee, and cold extract coffee is better than cold coffee.
