Medium fruit coffee (scientific name: Coffea canephora), also known as Robusta coffee bean (Robusta), is the second largest variety of coffee production in the world, accounting for about 20% of the world coffee production.
The berries of medium fruit coffee are larger than small fruit coffee but smaller than large fruit coffee, and its disease resistance is strong. It is suitable for growing in a tropical climate with an altitude of 200-300 meters. It contains a high concentration of caffeine, which is about 2%, 4%, but the taste is sour and astringent. It is mainly grown in some tropical countries such as Indonesia, India and Uganda, and most of it is used as instant coffee.
The first coffee that I formed a relationship with my own roasted coffee beans was Robusta. I came into contact with the first roasting coffee shop in October 1997. Because I didn't know much about coffee, I ordered a Java Robusta and asked the boss to bake a pot. After a lot of time, the raw beans changed from the first explosion to the second explosion of intense smoke, with a sweet and greasy aroma.
Later, I started baking beans by myself in that own roasting cafe, and then baked beans in the store, including formula beans, Italian beans and re-roasted iced coffee beans used in some local cafes, restaurants and breakfast shops. During that period, Java Robusta commercial beans were about 60 to 70 yuan per kilogram. The beans actually looked pretty and tasted good, and some stores even used Java Robusta as their signature coffee. In the following years, due to the promotion of 100% Arabica by market owners and the demonization of Robusta, the retail commercial bean version Robusta was bought from small raw bean stores in the previous two years. Almost 2 CPUs 3 are worm-eaten beans and defective beans. Good Robusta can no longer be found at commercial bean prices and can only be used as negative teaching materials.
In the past two years, some raw bean merchants began to import high-quality Robusta, and I was pleased to see it, because there has been no opportunity to drink Robusta as a single product for a long time, and I have asked many times but failed to find a suitable channel.
I heard about Ama el Aroma Sugar Coffee from my friends in the store, but I heard that it was packed in large sacks of tens of kilograms, and no retail was more suitable for small self-baking companies. However, last year, I added the FB of Zoe Shih, the person in charge of Sugar Coffee, and continued to watch her travel to various producing areas to introduce local raw bean information. It was not until recently that I saw her PO photos of Kaapi Royale Robusta India's Royal Peacock Manor bean bags that I noticed the possibility of retail.
With this Kaapi Royale Robusta, raw beans are actually much more beautiful than the Robesda I have come into contact with before, with larger particles and excellent aroma.
The aroma of cooked beans baked in the middle is like drinking hot wheat tea with some coffee aroma, with no sour taste at all.
The following photos are from FB of Coffee Sugar Coffee Zoe Shih, Robusta Coffee Flower, and bean bags marked with 10KG specifications. In fact, this sack should not only be packed in 10KG, so the actual 10KG packaging received is sub-packed in plastic bags. Asked about sugar coffee in small packages of raw beans, most producing areas are 10KG as the smallest unit, while Guatemala is 15KG as the smallest unit. Interested bean bakers can call Sugar Coffee and ask for quotes for raw beans.
This is the Kaapi Royale India Royal Peacock Manor Q certification, and the United States SCAA evaluation scores, this time the sun Robusta is the second highest score in the SCAA Robusta evaluation this year, the taste is the better choice in Robusta, in addition to can be used as a higher price of espresso with beans choice, can also be used as a single drink, the price of raw beans is actually no lower than Arabica Arabica boutique coffee beans.
Qianjie coffee: Guangzhou bakery, the store is small but a variety of beans, you can find a variety of unknown beans, but also provide online store services. Https://shop104210103.taobao.com
