Panamanian Rosa Coffee beans-what are the flavor and taste characteristics of Mama Cata Coffee Manor in Pokuit, Panama?
Mama Cata Estate (named after the matriarch of the family) is younger than most of our other partners. However, what Mama Cata Estate lacks in history, it makes up for its unique technical capabilities. Mama Cata, owned and run by third-generation coffee farmer Jose David Garrido, is an award-winning farm famous for producing coffee, which is well-known in Panama's Best Taste Competition. Mama Cata Farm is located in Alto Quiel, a small area of the famous Boquete growing area, with the perfect balance of climate, mineral-rich soil and unique heirloom varieties.
Jose David Garrido founded Mama Cata Estate in 1997 with a passion for agriculture and a pursuit of quality. The farm is located in the Alto Quiel area of Boquete, Panama. This is a perfect coffee growing area, with an altitude of 5000-5575 feet, an annual temperature of 55 °- 80 °, rich nutrients, volcanic soil and an average rainfall of 175in. This natural microclimate enhances the natural richness of coffee. Grow in Mama Cata Estate. Unlike traditional farms, Mama Cata lots are defined using GPS coordinates.
By inferring and interpreting data derived from the technology, the family obtained information about the variety, soil composition, health and production of each coffee tree. This enables them to deal effectively with variables that may affect the quality of their coffee. The reliable production of extremely high quality coffee makes the estate a feature of the best competition in Panama.
The most important factor in coffee harvest is to determine the best maturity of coffee harvest. Using GPS-based data technology to determine which batches are ready to be picked, the system also allows Mama Cata Estate to continue to track each coffee batch as it is extracted, dried and processed. In addition, the drying of the balcony is based on the weather patterns monitored by high-tech weather stations.
The coffee is then shelled, sorted, cupped for defects and ready for shipment, and each batch is separated according to its unique source. The advanced technology used to grow these specialty Arabica coffee beans in Mama Cata Estate depends on the skill, diligence and commitment of all staff. We are very grateful to Jose David Garrido for combining his passion with technological innovation to bring extraordinary training to his high-quality coffee.
