Coffee is picked from the highest part of the farm in 1480 masl. The farm, owned and managed by wonderful Maria Rodriguez, is located on the outskirts of Pico Pijol and is declared a national park and forest reserve by the Honduran government.
We have made every effort to be consistent with the national protection work and to change its washing methods and waste management accordingly in its wet mill. In addition, professional forest management and conservation methods are used to protect native trees and more than 200 hardwood trees growing coffee crops.
Maria is committed to social responsibility and supports a local community of about 60 families. Each family lives on land donated by Finca, including land for community schools.
