La roca is produced by 65 small coffee growers in Cordillera, Dipilto. Dipilto is a nature reserve with beautiful animal and plant biodiversity, very close to the Honduran border. The area is a popular place to celebrate Guadalupe's Notre Dame every year, often called Saint de la Petra because she is looking after them in a sacred monument above a boulder in Dipilto. This is the name of La Roca.

Nicaraguan Coffee makes Dipilto such a famous region. Altitude, soil and microclimate make the community an ideal Nicaraguan coffee. In 2012, Caravela Nicaragua began working with small growers in the region. Until the end of 2013, we decided to install a cup testing laboratory in Ocotal to get closer to producers and help them produce better quality coffee.
