The bean I introduced to you today is a bag of coffee beans baked in a blue bottle that I bought before. It comes from sun beans from Elton Farm, a coffee farm in Tanzania.

Elton is a family-run farm in Mbeya in the Mbozi district. The Elton family bought the farm in 2006 and operated it on its own, employing about 50 workers to help harvest coffee during the harvest season.

Two main varieties are grown on the farm: local bourbon N39 and Zambian Mazabuko, which are mostly treated with traditional water washing, that is, fermentation is used to remove wet sticky pectin and dry the raw beans on an elevated bed.

This kind of bean can be regarded as the representative peaberry of Tanzania, that is, the so-called "round bean". This kind of round small bean fruit is relatively high in the local coffee bean production in Tanzania, but compared horizontally with the coffee beans produced in other regions, round beans are still very rare. Therefore, the price of peaberry in the international boutique coffee market is usually relatively high.

In general, the fruit of a coffee tree contains two coffee beans, each in a flat hemispherical shape. however, affected by insect damage, prolonged drought, or malnutrition of the coffee tree, some of the fruit will change shape at maturity, only a single bean, this oval single bean is called Peaberry.

Tanzania coffee beans are relatively small, spindle shape, size and color beans are not very neat, so it looks a little ugly, feel very unamazing feeling, but in fact the flavor will make you feel very special.

Weigh about 15-19 grams of coffee beans, depending on the amount you need. I brew it according to the proportion of powder and water at 1:16.

The coffee beans in Tanzania show unrestrained fruit flavor in the dry part, and you can obviously smell the comprehensive tropical fruit flavor, with more sour and sweet aromas of plums and berries. Like this red ripe fruit, with a lively and playful attraction.

After cooking, you can drink the bitter sweet taste of black cocoa, there is a taste similar to caramel, slightly sour fruit, the whole is still quite a special bean.

In fact, the flavor of Tanzanian coffee is quite "reserved" in the process of brewing. You really don't seem to think it is anything special. Although there are so many parts of dry incense that can be felt, there is no feeling of gushing out. Everything seems to be a little ordinary, but it is also these so-called ordinary patches that become very recognizable. I will think that Tanzanian coffee beans are not shocking. But it is also unique. Coffee with its own unique personality is worth a try.
