From the discovery of Mount Rosa in Ethiopia, it was unknown for decades, until one day, Esmeralda Manor in Panama separated it from other varieties and won the national coffee contest. The estate is the famous Panama Geisha Hacienda La Esmeralda.

Rosa Coffee not only won the Panamanian National Treasure Bean Cup Test Competition in 2005, 2006 and 2007, but also won the International famous Bean Cup Test Competition sponsored by the American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA) in 2007. The price was even sold at US $130 per pound, setting a record for the highest price in the history of competition beans.

It is reported that the later Panamanian national treasure bean competition will be divided into two groups: rose summer and non-rose summer, in order to avoid interfering with the selection and promotion of other varieties.

In 2013, the highest standard gold of BOP (Best of Panama) washing Rose Summer Group was more than 160USD / lb, while the highest standard gold of Sunshine Rose Summer Group, which was finally won the first place with a sky-high price of US $350USD / lb by Hacienda La Esmeralda, translates into more than 5000 RMB per kilogram.
