Hand-brewed coffee making utensils recommended for beginners and enthusiasts
Because one of the main contents of the training course is hand-brewing coffee making, every time when the beginner class begins, we always introduce the instruments used for hand-brewing coffee to the students in advance, so that they can buy them in advance, so that they can study and make coffee at home. However, when purchasing appliances, some students will still encounter problems of one kind or another, so I would like to sort out an electronic version of the recommended appliances, with pictures and instructions, which is not only convenient for students, but also a good reference for many coffee lovers and friends who want to bring their own weapons DIY hand-brewed coffee at home.
In fact, the operating appliances of hand-brewed coffee are very simple: hand-brewed pots, filters, filter paper, filter pots, hand grinders, a set of appliances comes down to 300 to 500 cheap, and even the most expensive one is no more than a thousand. Of course, every penny corresponds to a penny of quality. what we recommend to the students here are the most professional and practical appliances, the principle of which we will slowly decompose later.
Hand punch: the spout of the hand punch is longer than that of the ordinary kettle, and it is located in the lower part of the kettle. The key to a good hand punch is to easily control the flow of water and send and receive it freely, so a good hand punch is worth thousands of dollars, and the cheapest one is tens of yuan each.
Players make pots, first of all depends on the capacity, there are probably all sizes from 400cc to 1500cc on the market, but professional coffee makers are recommended to use 800ml to 1500ml size. If it is too small, it is light, but it is not easy to control the flow, and it is not convenient to make multiple cups.
Secondly, to look at the spout, to see whether the spout design is scientific and solid, whether the water is easy to control, most of the pots of poor quality are always easy to leak when adjusting the slender flow. Some shoddy hand pots and even spouts are crooked at the slightest break.
Third, look at the handle, whether the design of the handle is convenient to hold and control.
Fourth, look at the material, of course, the material of the hand pot is mostly stainless steel, but also enamel, copper and other materials, although enamel and copper pot look more beautiful, but for the production of coffee does not have a big impact, convenient and practical angle is better than stainless steel.
In Xiumen Coffee, we have used many kinds of pots, such as TAKAHIRO, YUKIWA, kalita and so on, but for students, the main recommendations are THAKAHIRO and kalita.

First from left: TAKAHIRO 1.5l, second from left, 1.2l
TAKAHIRO 1.5l, large capacity, more convenient to make more cups, beginners need a certain amount of practice to control and maintain a steady flow.
TAKAHIRO 0.9L, lighter, suitable for all beginners and enthusiasts, it is easier to master good posture with more practice.
Kalita1.0L, handle design is easier to use than other kalita models, and the price is lower than TAKAHIRO, more practical.
Kalita is a 1.3L package and is an alternative to TAKAHIRO 1.5L. It is recommended if you want to save a little money, but the price difference is based on the difference in feel.
Filter: filter is an important factor affecting the taste of coffee. There are many brands and models of filters that are common in the market, but different models and structures of filters have different tastes. In Xiumen Coffee, for beginners, we recommend two filters, kalia 101D and Melitta.

Kalita101D-- three filter holes, the water is too fast, the taste of extracted coffee is soft and refreshing, and it is easy for beginners to grasp.

Melitta1 × 1 filter: a filter hole, the effluent is slower, and the soaking effect is more obvious. the extracted coffee tastes rich and heavy, but it requires some technology, and it is easy to make strong and dull coffee if it is not operated properly.
Filter paper: the above two brands of kalita and melitta filters are used, it is recommended to buy the same brand and model of filter paper, good filter paper texture is uniform, water permeability is good, no miscellaneous smell, but there are some unknown brands on the market, the effect is much worse.
Filter pots: filter pots are generally glass products, as long as the glass quality is good, high temperature resistance, the kettle body has the correct capacity mark, of course, beautiful and convenient modeling can also be considered! Kalita, Melitta and Hario all have good quality and easy to use filter pots.
Hand grinder: if you make coffee at home, of course you have to grind it yourself to ensure its freshness, so here we recommend two of the most affordable hand mills. Of course, these two models are the most cost-effective, but if you like beautiful antique bean grinders, there are many Kalita, Hario and Zassenhaus, with prices ranging from more than 400 yuan to thousands of yuan.

Hario MSS-1B Mini Mill Slim Coffee Grinder, although the growth of small strength is not weak, ceramic grinding core is easy to clean, and suitable for travel.

A larger model, with the same function as the previous model, but with a stronger appearance.
OK, this is all the equipment needed for the beginner of hand-brewing coffee: hand-brewing pot, filter, filter pot, filter paper, hand bean grinder, of course, for ordinary enthusiasts, each of the above equipment will be fine, but students of Xiumen Coffee should pay attention to: both Kalita and Melitta filters should be provided, because both of them will be used in our course. And comparing the taste differences between the two and mastering their respective extraction skills is one of our contents. Combined with the above words and pictures, I believe you can easily buy the right equipment, of course, if you still have any questions, then call our "coffee hotline"-87986000 to ask our coffee teacher for help!
In short-- whatever it takes to create good conditions for making coffee is what coffee lovers all over the world have in common, isn't it? May coffee lovers find their own sharp weapons as soon as possible!

Coffee Explore the thousand flavors of Kenyan coffee
Perhaps Kenya's first impression on me was too strong, like the midday sun at the equator, as bold as the herds of antelope on the grassland under the blue sky, gathering the fragrance of all tropical fruits and the wildness of dense forests into a cup, even after the cool aftertaste, it still lost its bright and hard air. Autumn morning, the right autumn mood and the lingering music in the air are so harmonious.
