WOTE KONGA MILL-YIRGACHEFFE WORDEA, GEDEO ZONE
Wote is a private washing treatment plant in Yirgacheffe, southern Ethiopia. Coffee grows in the Gedeo micro-producing area of Yigracheffe and is famous for its most complex and full-bodied flavor in Yirgacheffe. The cherries are then processed at Wote by the manufacturer Mr. Makrurian Mergya and his more than 100 employees. The Wote River flows through the treatment station and is the natural water source of the treatment station.
Coffee is transported to Wote Konga from about 700 small farmers and remote farmers in the surrounding area and is grown at an altitude of 1850 to 2050 meters. Over the past few years, Mr. Mergya has been working to improve the preparation and handling of coffee to meet the quality standards of the high-end coffee market. Great progress has been made in drying methods and careful classification.
While coffee used to grow in the wild in Ethiopia, improved varieties and forest-grown coffee are now transferred to small farmers' plantations, which means that there may be no less than 26 varieties in a cup of coffee from Wote. All varieties belong to Ethiopian native species and in this case to Yirgacheffe.
