Lamatus Family has three well-known coffee estates-Elida Estate (Alida Manor), El Burro Estate (Donkey Manor) and LuitoGeishaEstate (Louito Manor). It can be said to be the winning general in all the BOP (Best Panama) category competitions over the years.
Donkey Manor, as a sister brand of Elida Manor, is also run and managed by the Lamastus family. Compared to the famous Elida Manor, the less productive Donkey Manor is more mysterious. Located in the Pokuit region of Panama, Donkey Manor is located in the south of the Baru Volcano National Park area, so it can retain a rather primitive ecological environment. Balu volcano is one of the highest volcanoes in Central America. Due to the difference in altitude, the whole volcanic area has more than seven microclimatic environments.
The main coffee trees planted in Donkey Manor are Rosa and Kaduai, and the coffee growing area is located at an altitude of about 1800 meters, which is only a handful in the entire coffee growing area of Panama. Thanks to such geographical conditions, coffee trees enjoy a unique planting environment of high altitude and obvious temperature difference between day and night, the perennial temperature in the planting area is low, the soil is fertile and rich in organic matter, and the dry season is still shrouded in clouds. and there are virgin forests as shade, so the ripening cycle of fresh coffee fruit can be delayed by about a month, and the sweetness develops more fully, making the flavor unique. The long and clean aftertaste is memorable.
In recent years, Donkey Manor has achieved great success in the BOP Best Panama Competition, and Maruyama barista Suzuki won the Japanese barista contest in 2016 because of the washing rose summer of Donkey Manor.
