Is cold extract coffee the same as ice drop coffee?

However, there is a substantial and obvious difference between the two coffee production methods. The way of making ice drop coffee
Generally, ice drop coffee is made through an ice drop kettle, which is divided into the upper pot (ice water), the middle pot (coffee powder) and the lower pot (coffee liquid). From the ice water in the upper pot into the coffee powder in the middle pot drop by drop, the coffee liquid is slowly extracted and flowed into the lower pot, usually for 6-8 hours.

The cold extraction solution on Qianjie is to use 50g coffee powder, first pour the coffee powder, then add 400ml of normal temperature water and 200g hard ice cubes (a total of 600g ice-water mixture) to the bottle, the ratio of powder to water is 1:12, then use a mixing stick to stir the coffee powder and water, then seal in the freezer.
After 12-24 hours in the refrigerator, use filter paper to filter out the coffee grounds to get a clean coffee liquid, then use a clean sealed bottle to put the coffee liquid in a clean bottle and refrigerate it for about 4 hours before drinking.
What is the difference in flavor between the two?
Because ice drop coffee is extracted with ice water for a long time, more small molecules (such as flower aroma, acid) are extracted, while macromolecules (such as the bitterness of tannin) are more difficult to extract. In addition, after the production is completed, it will be fermented at a low temperature for 12 hours, so there is an obvious sense of fermentation in the flavor and the sweetness of the coffee bean itself, and the taste will be cool and delicious.
Cold coffee shows that the liquid is not as clear as ice drop coffee, the surface will also float a thin layer of oil, in flavor and taste compared to ice drop coffee will appear slightly thick and balanced.
What is sparkling coffee?

This process makes hot coffee cool in a very short time, can effectively "lock" the aroma components produced during hot coffee extraction, while minimizing the occurrence of oxidation reaction, giving coffee excellent flavor.
To avoid diluting the taste of coffee with ice cubes, iced coffee will reduce the powder-to-water ratio when brewing, brew it with less water to get a cup of coffee liquid with a higher concentration, and then cool it with ice cubes.

What are the characteristics of sparkling coffee?
The most important feature of flash coffee is that it can make a cold and refreshing cup of iced coffee in a few minutes, which greatly reduces the time cost for ice droplets. But flash coffee is essentially extracted from the middle and front of the coffee, and then cooled and diluted to the right temperature concentration with equal proportion of ice cubes. Therefore, it will be clean and refreshing in the taste, and it is easy to highlight the main flavor of coffee.
