The Republic of Honduras (Spanish: Rep ú blica de Honduras), or Honduras for short, is a mountainous country in Central America. Bordering Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua, it lies between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, with a coastline.

Production system
There are 280000 hectares of coffee plantations in Honduras. Honduras currently has about 565 million coffee trees, more than 95 per cent of which are small farms. More than 120000 households are involved in the production, most of which are less than 3.5ha, of which 70 per cent are less than 2ha each. These smallholder coffee plantations account for 60 per cent of the total coffee production in Honduras. Central farms account for about 3%, and large farms account for about 2%.

The nutritious acidic soil and warm environment make the coffee beans uniform in size and smooth in taste.
Lompilla is from the Plan of Origin and was founded by Mr. Sasa Sestic, champion of the 2015 World Barista Competition.
