What is American coffee?

There are many friends who always think of American coffee when they hear black coffee. Does American coffee originated in the United States?

American coffee bean recommendation

Of course, you can also use coffee beans from a single producing area to extract espresso (SOE). But it should be noted that every single coffee is suitable for many cup test / hand / ice drop cold delicious single bean, extraction in the environment of very fine grinding and pressurization, it is easy to over-enlarge the flavor.

For example, Qianjie Coffee currently sells light roasted Ethiopian fruit Ding Ding coffee beans, which are extracted by drip / soak, and the coffee flavor shows bright citrus acid, white flower aroma and the sweetness of honey green tea. In the Italian coffee machine pressurized extraction, the coffee flavor will become sharp, thin, and easy to have a sense of astringency.

So if you want to make SOE, you can choose individual coffee beans tailor-made for SOE, or choose coffee beans that are moderately roasted.

The production of espresso

The soul of American coffee lies in the production of espresso. The performance of each coffee machine and bean grinder is different, so the production parameters of espresso do not have a standard answer, which needs to be adjusted according to the actual situation.

If you extract espresso for the first time, Qianjie Coffee recommends that you use the parameters as the intermediate value (20g of coffee powder to extract 40g of coffee liquid, time 25-30s), and then taste to determine whether the espresso / flavor is in the expected range, and then adjust the parameters.

The proportion of American coffee made

In the past, the production method of the street coffee shop was taken as an example. The sunflower warm sun mixed coffee beans used by the front street coffee shop were used as the beans for espresso. Every day, the barista had to debug according to the state of the beans. In order to highlight the taste of the Shirley barrel, 20 grams of coffee beans were selected and 40 grams of coffee liquid was extracted for 27 to 28 seconds.
