Growing up on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, Manning is famous for its smooth, full taste and rich and complex taste. Sumatra Mantenin's tasting notes usually describe it as an earthy and strong herbal aroma, unique to the region and not found in coffee from South America or Africa. Manning coffee is moderately acidic and vibrant, often giving off sweet chocolate and licorice flavors. Coffee tastes good because of its rich volcanic soil and tropical climate, although not at a very high altitude. The coffee is named after the Mandailing people of North Sumatra, who are a people, not a region, of Mandailing.
