Our Nicaraguan coffee comes in black and medium-roasted coffee, both of which have many of the traditional flavors of Central American coffee-chocolate and citrus-and a pleasant undercurrent of mild tobacco. With mild acidity, a slightly crisp front end and a creamy body, this coffee provides a balanced cup with only a few almonds. It grows at an average altitude of 1200 meters, which makes coffee beans of higher density and better quality.

This coffee is both organic and fair. It comes from a small farmers' cooperative (30 per cent women) in the mountains of northern Nicaragua, which is committed to improving agricultural production methods and producing higher quality products. Funding opportunities for educational projects and economic diversification are provided through cooperatives as well as research and development of strategies to combat gender inequality and crop safety.
