Ethiopian coffee Aricha

Buna (Amharic [Ethiopian dialect] word for coffee) was discovered hundreds of years ago in Ethiopia. Coffee trees were shipped to other parts of the world, marking the beginning of global coffee development. Coffee is still a sacred commodity in Ethiopia, and people roast it at home every day. Basically, almost every Ethiopian civilian is a coffee roaster or has been exposed to coffee roasting.

Aricha is the name of the washing station where this coffee is processed. Idido is a village, also called kebele, in a small area of Yirgacheffe where this coffee is grown and processed. Aricha is about 8 km from the centre of Yirgacheffe. This coffee ripens between November and January, sheds within 12 hours and is washed clean with spring water. The soil in this area is reddish brown clay, about 1.5 meters deep. We have a special relationship with the producer of this Yirgacheffe, which is exclusive to the UK and not very common.

Aricha coffee is produced in the Gediyo region of Yirgacheffe region at an altitude of 2200 meters.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee is one of the best quality coffees in the world. After harvest, it is usually graded by a jury, from 1-5(1 being the highest).

We only have a first-class stock of this coffee; it's one of the best quality coffees in the world. This coffee bean scores close to 90 cups and is one of the top 0.01% coffees in the world.
