Yirgacheffe Banko Gotiti in Ethiopia comes from a family farm around the Banko Gotiti cooperative, which is located in the village of Banko Gotiti in the southern part of Gedeb, Yirgacheffe region, Ethiopia. This area is very close to the place where coffee is thought to be first found. The cooperative, established in 2012, is an entity independent of the larger cooperatives and currently has about 300 members. The Banko Gotiti Cooperative is famous for the best varieties of coffee cherries in Ethiopia.

Since its inception, the Banko Gotiti Cooperative has been producing quality coffee, some of which can be traced back to a farmer, which is almost unheard of in Ethiopia. Ripe cherries are carefully selected and immediately placed on a raised seedbed and carefully constructed to ensure proper air circulation and temperature control to achieve the best drying process. Cherries should also be turned regularly to prevent damage during drying. After the moisture has dropped to 11.5% to 12%, the cherries are stored in a local warehouse and transported to Addis Ababa, where the coffee is ground and exported.

High altitude (as high as 2200 meters in some areas), fertile soil, continuous adequate rainfall and rich local knowledge all contribute to the high status of Yirgacheffe Coffee. The local "family heirloom" variety-a wild variety grown in Ethiopia-has contributed to the unique taste of Yirgacheffe coffee, creating an unusual but beautiful and delicate cup characterized by strong floral / herbal aromas of citric acid, sweet chocolate and lavender, jasmine, bergamot and thyme.

This Yirgacheffe Banko Gotiti coffee is roasted in medium black and can be brewed in an espresso machine or in a coffee filter. Cups include bergamot, cream, nuts and dark chocolate.
