What makes Honduran coffee special?

In order to learn more about this problem, I decided to talk to Project Origin & # 39 th s Best of Honduras: Sasa Sestic, founder of Late Harvest Auction. I also interviewed producer Jorge Lanza (Jorge Lanza) from Santa Barbara, winner of the 2013 Honduras Award for Excellence.

Not only do the two companies have great enthusiasm for the country's specialty coffee production, but they also agree on what makes the country so great: diversity. Honduras may be small, but it is rich in different varieties, crafts, elevations, microclimates, cups and so on.

Generally speaking, the annual rainfall is between 1300 and 2300 mm (IHCAFE), but some areas are much wetter than others. Varieties include Catuai, Pacas, lempa, IHCAFE90, and Parainema. Washed coffee is the most common, but you will also find producers experimenting with honey or nature (locally known as guacucos).
