Brief introduction of Qianjie-Yejia Xuefei and Guji producing areas

Ethiopia is widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee and is now highly valued in the boutique coffee industry. Coffee beans from Ethiopia have become a must-have item on the menu of large, small and medium-sized coffee shops around the world. There are more than 10 types of Yega Xuefei coffee on the front street bean list. But many friends who have just come into contact with boutique coffee do not know Yega Xuefei. Qianjie will simply share it today!

Yega Xuefei Yirgacheffe

Yega Xuefei is a part of the Sidamo producing area, but it has been separated into independent micro-producing areas because of its special coffee flavor. Most of the coffee produced here is washed and can be described as a bright, clear coffee with obvious floral notes, strong and complex flavor, rich flower aroma, moderate acidity, full taste and long aftertaste.

These characteristics may vary from low-altitude to high-altitude areas of coffee cultivation; for example, the elevations of Chichu and Michle cooperatives are between 1600 and 1800m, and the coffee produced has herbaceous aromas. While the altitude of Idido, Adadao and Aramo cooperatives is between 2000 and 2400m, they have obvious flower fragrance.

Guji Guji

The Guji producing area once belonged to the Sidamo producing area, but its superior geographical location and cup test flavor were separated and established as an independent producing area by ECX (Ethiopia Commodity Exchange) in 2010. The soil in the producing area is fertile and nutritious, with an average elevation of more than 1800 meters. The significant temperature difference between day and night makes the local area have various local conditions for producing high-quality boutique coffee.

The coffee beans in Guji producing areas show different flavor characteristics due to different micro-producing areas, such as Shakiso and Humbela are all micro-producing areas belonging to Guji. On the whole, Gucci's coffee shows the rich taste of tropical fruit, strong, mellow, lively acidity.

Ethiopian washed coffee beans exude an elegant flavor, with elegant floral and citrus flavor, clean as silk, but the specific flavor features with regional characteristics. Sun-cured coffee tends to have a stronger, fuller fruit flavor. Compared with washed coffee, properly handled sun-cured coffee maintains a clean lemon and floral aroma, and adds sweetness and body.

Knowledge expansion: because Ethiopia has obvious differences in altitude and countless varieties of coffee collectively known as Heirloom, Ethiopian coffee has a great variety of flavors.
