this story

From importer, crop to cup:

"Solok Radjo Cooperative (600 members, 1-2 hectares each) is a young, vibrant group that is baking, visiting cafes, brewing,[learning] agriculture, etc." They have three q-certified cuppers/graders and cupping devices at both the Aie Dingin site location and Solok drying/grinding site location. They are checking humidity (although not very hard) and baking on site to check each batch and report back to our local staff in Medan.

"In ecological terms, this group is serious. They received a grant from the government to reforest 3000 hectares of previously reclaimed land at the boundaries of the national park. They plant shade trees/forest saplings and coffee tree saplings in their chicken coop nurseries, and they re-convert these cleared lands to woodland, with coffee trees growing under the canopy."
