Introduction to the difference and characteristics between Qianjie and American Coffee

The coffee camp can be roughly divided into two categories: espresso and filtered coffee. So, what is the difference between these two cooking methods? This article will talk about the difference between the two from the aspects of flavor, production method and so on.

What is Espresso?

For Italians, Espresso means the fastest way to get caffeine. The word expresses one of its most important features-speed. The same is true, making fast, drinking fast, and caffeine fast enough.

Apart from "fast", what other features does Espresso have? Extracted with extremely high temperature water, the pressurized water flows through the very fine ground coffee powder, and the extracted coffee liquid has a higher density and higher concentration than filtered coffee.

In this way, Espresso is not difficult to leave a strong and exciting impression on you. But Espresso is not only used for a stuffy small cup of coffee, but also the base of all kinds of Italian coffee, such as American style, latte, Australian white, cappuccino.

In theory, espresso and filtered coffee are two sides of the same concept, because their basic principles are the same-pour hot water on the coffee powder layer, and the water passes through the coffee powder layer and some form of filter to extract the coffee liquor. and eventually fall into the coffee cup.

But the key difference between filtered coffee and espresso is that the water used to filter coffee is not driven by pressure but flows through the coffee powder layer only by gravity. Therefore, in order to get a cup of coffee delicious enough, the extraction process takes a little longer.

Because of this, filtering coffee requires a higher gouache ratio. For the same 20g coffee powder, it may take only 40g of water to make Espresso, while 300g or more is needed to make filtered coffee (normally, regardless of special recipes).

Other equivalent names for filtered coffee include "hand brewed coffee" (the more familiar term "hand brewed coffee" will be used below to replace "filtered coffee") and "drip filtered coffee", which tend to extract more flavor substances from coffee. It makes this brewing method more suitable for brewing coffee beans in a single producing area (that is, single coffee), in order to highlight the "regional flavor" brought by its origin.

Unlike the dense and hierarchical feel of espresso, hand-brewed coffee pursues cleanliness, clarity and consistency.

Knowledge: Elaraby plus seed and Robasta seed are divided into individual coffee and Italian coffee according to the matching of coffee beans.
