There are hundreds of kinds of coffee in the world, and 70% of the coffee is grown in Arabica. Although Arabica is more vulnerable than Robusta, its flavor and aroma are more popular with consumers and are common in both boutique and commercial markets.
Bourbon coffee (French: Caf é Bourbon) is a kind of coffee produced by growing coffee trees in bourbon cultivation of Arabica coffee. Bourbon coffee was originally grown in Reunion, which was also known as bourbon Island (? le Bourbon) before 1789. Later occupied by France to connect with the African continent and Latin America, it is now one of the two most popular producers of Arabica coffee in the world. Bourbon coffee is usually produced between 3500 and 6500 feet above sea level.
The bourbon coffee tree is basically the same as the iron pickup coffee tree in height and shape, but the bourbon is thicker and has more side branches. The trunk and branches are relatively thicker, so the bourbon tree is stronger and more flexible than the tin card. Between the branches, the shorter distance between the branches and the higher density also means that the yield of bourbon is 30% higher than that of tin trucks.
The leaves of the bourbon tree are wider than tin cards, with rugged leaves and wavy edges. The newly grown leaves are usually green, but the tips are sometimes copper. The fruit is round and can be red, orange or yellow when ripe, but there are no different colors on the same tree.
Many people may mistakenly think that bourbon coffee is coffee from Bourbon Island. However, it is not. In 1711, a native Arabica coffee tree was first discovered in S ã o Paulo, above 600m above sea level, on the island of Bourbon. Its mature rind was brown instead of red, and it was called brown fruit coffee at that time. However, after trying it, it was found that it was too bitter to have a market. As a result, in 1715, the French shipped 60 mocha round coffee from Yemen to replace brown fruit coffee.
And, in order to distinguish it from the Tiebika long-bodied beans of the extremely competitive Dutch coffee market at that time, it was named "bourbon round beans" or "green top bourbon" (because the young leaves at the top were green, which was different from Tibica's brown). It later developed into the bourbon it is now.
