Fertile soil and subtropical temperate climate provide ideal conditions for growing high-quality Arabica coffee. The forests of the area were once covered with precious mahogany, which were cut down to panel the walls of the English aristocracy.

Coffee Farm Development in Belize

The 50-acre Gullon Jug farm in the Orange Walk District district of Orange is developing a finca, mainly using coffee plants originally from Costa Rica, that grow exceptionally well at low elevations. These plants are grown in natural areas under the shadow of the jungle, which have been thinned to accommodate coffee plants.
