In 1904, Mr. Manuel P é rez acquired La Reforma Farm for the production of tobacco, corn and beans.

Later, his son Leonardo continued to produce the same crops, and it was not until 1939 that Leonardo II began to produce coffee.

Leonardo II has been engaged in coffee production since he was very young. He and his brothers and cousins picked coffee and processed it by hand. He recalled that when the coffee was ready, they put it on the mule and then spent six days walking from Agua Dulce and Cuilco in Huehuetenango province to Huehuetango. When they returned, he was very happy because he had sold the coffee and could ride the mule home.

Today, the fourth generation of the P é rez family continues to grow this fascinating crop, and more importantly for the P é rez family, the fifth generation of the family has put into coffee production and strives to make this estate one of the best in the Huehuetenango producing area.
