In 2021, the purchase prices of Yunnan black tea, Taiwan black tea, Nepal black tea and Darjeeling black tea will change due to the decrease of rainfall.
This year, in India, Nepal, China and Taiwan, it has been very dry since February, and the growth of tea has lagged behind. I have confirmed the situation of various producing areas, and this year's harvest is about half of that of previous years, while prices are also rising. However, it is said that due to little rainfall, tea trees take time to grow slowly, so the quality is very good no matter where they come from. You can look forward to mellow tea this year.
The dry condition in Yunnan Province is so outstanding that the whole harvest period has been postponed. Take the village I traded at an altitude of 2000m as an example. According to the situation in previous years, more than half of the tea had been harvested in the second half of April. But in 21 years, it was just the beginning. Producers who own tea gardens are good, but the prices of factories that purchase raw tea for Pu'er tea production have increased significantly due to the rise in procurement costs. Fortunately, the producers of Pu'er tea and white tea they come into contact with have a wide range of their own tea gardens, so the impact of prices can be avoided.
The most difficult tea to buy this year is wild tea. The harvest of wild tea has dropped sharply this year, only about 1/3 of that in previous years. For this reason, prices have skyrocketed, and it is difficult to even get started without an appointment. Although we tried our best to get as many raw materials as possible, we only got about half of the originally scheduled purchase. Taiwan tea, Nepal, Darjeeling Taiwan tea, Nepal, Darjeeling, (Yunnan Province) and other places have a lot in common in latitude and elevation. Like other producing areas, Rain Water's harvest is only about half of that of previous years.
The quality is expected to be very good, but in some areas, the decline in harvest is inversely proportional to the rise in prices.
