Colombia's coffee production has been in a tug of war with Vietnam in recent years, but Vietnam overtook it from 2003 to 2007, ranking it the third largest producer in the world. Colombia is bent on regaining its second place. In 2006, it formulated a plan to increase production. It is determined to increase the current annual production of more than 12 million bags to more than 16 million bags within five years, and regain the second place in the world.

In the past, Costa Rica paid more attention to the bulk commercial soybean market, and it did not enter the niche boutique market until 2001. Obviously, it started much later than Brazil and Guatemala. On this point,"FNC" personnel said that ten years ago, they were not optimistic about the boutique market, and only after the millennium began to mend.

In fact, Colombia's rich landscape, low latitude, high altitude, with excellent conditions for the growth of fine coffee; here in addition to Bucaramanga (Bucaramanga) lower altitude, coffee is mostly planted in 1,200 ~ 1,900 meters. Brazil relies on high technology to overcome the unfavorable water and soil environment of coffee, and later comes out of a sky; Colombia has good mountains and good water, the natural environment is superior to Brazil, and the explosive force of developing fine coffee is more powerful, and the future trend cannot be underestimated.

Costa Rica's coffee region is located between 3 and 8 degrees north latitude, belonging to the low latitude coffee belt, which can be harvested twice a year, and mature coffee can be harvested almost every month from south to north. Large commercial coffee farms are located in the central and northern regions, which are the main commercial bean producing areas, including the historical Medin, Armenia and Manizales in the central region, which is commonly known as the "MAM". The crystalline fruit acids here are heavy and typical of Central America.

But Bucaramanga in the north-eastern province of Santander is known for its low acidity and bitter aroma, similar to Indonesian mantenin flavor, probably related to an altitude of only 960 meters (low acidity at low altitude). Bucaramanga beans are interesting, unlike the familiar Colombia flavor, although soft beans but good body, drink not like 'MAM' beans only dead acid without depth.
