Abstract: recently, Japanese research institutions have found that coffee can prevent and alleviate many diseases.

Coffee, which originated in Ethiopia, has always been a "secret medicine" taken by Islamic clerics in ancient times. It was not promoted as a drink by Europeans until 400 years ago.

A recent survey by the National Research Center of Japan shows that people who drink coffee every day are much less likely to develop liver cancer, rectal cancer and head and neck cancer than those who do not drink coffee at all.

A survey of liver cancer patients by the National Cancer Research Center of Japan found that people who drank one or two cups of coffee a day (about 100ml) were 1/2 of those who did not drink at all, and 1/4 of those who drank five cups a day.

Coffee contains an antioxidant polyphenol chlorogenic acid, which, in conjunction with caffeine, is thought to have a role in preventing normal cell carcinogenesis. In addition, Harvard University in the United States said after a seven-year follow-up of about 17000 people with different physiques in the Netherlands, "the incidence of diabetes in people who drink seven cups of coffee a day is about half that of those who drink less than two cups (100ml per cup)."

Corresponding to the efficacy of coffee, the harm of excessive consumption of coffee is also very significant. Previous studies have pointed out that excessive consumption of caffeine can lead to long-term overexcitation of nerves. Depending on the individual's physique, if the average daily intake of caffeine is more than 1 gram, it will cause excessive burden on the cardiovascular system. Pregnant women who drink a lot of coffee may also increase the risk of miscarriage. In addition, although the specific ingredients that work are not clear, studies have shown that coffee promotes the secretion of stomach acid. For people with excessive stomach acid or diseases such as stomach ulcers, it is best to avoid drinking coffee.

After considering all the above factors and Oriental physique, the researchers suggest that the average daily consumption of coffee should be between 5 and 10 cups.
