Last Updated: 2024/11/08, Do you know what coffee tasters do? They act as a bridge between the upstream and downstream of the coffee industry: on the one hand, they judge the quality of coffee beans to coffee consumers and recommend the most suitable specialty coffee to coffee buyers; on the other hand, they also describe the flavor needs of end consumers to coffee producers and participate in or guide some important aspects of the coffee industry upstream.

Do you know what the job of a coffee tasting expert is? They are the bridge between the upstream and downstream of the coffee industry: on the one hand, they judge the quality of raw coffee beans to coffee consumers and recommend the most suitable boutique coffee to the majority of coffee buyers; on the other hand, they also describe the flavor needs of end consumers to coffee producers and participate in or guide some important behaviors in the upper reaches of the coffee industry. To become a qualified coffee tasting expert, watch the video below to get a preliminary understanding.

See the sign on the apron of the four tasting artists in the video? that's logo of SCAA, the American boutique coffee association, which means they are all SCAA's coffee quality appraisers, or Q-Grader. Whether baristas, coffee trainers, coffee shop owners or coffee enthusiasts, learning to pass the Q-Grader is tantamount to opening a magical door to the world of boutique coffee. Platinum Coffee College also offers Q-Grader courses. We invite CQI authorized lecturers from the United States to come to Beijing to give lectures in person, and after 6 days (including 3 days of Pre-Q Grader preview courses), we will study and examine them while studying. Through cup testing and various taste and smell exercises supplemented by coffee professional knowledge, we will achieve the integrity of the whole course, as well as improve personal coffee knowledge and coffee evaluation ability. Those who pass the test will receive the coffee quality appraiser certificate (Licensed Q Grader Certificate) issued by SCAA and CQI and log their names on the association's website.
