What do you need to make coffee?
Some students will always ask what kind of equipment I should choose. I think I should ask myself what kind of coffee I want to drink first.
According to some books, coffee can be divided into drip coffee and Italian coffee. Usually what we drink, such as Brazilian coffee, belongs to a single product; lattes and cabs belong to Italian style.
In terms of cost: making drip coffee at home is lower than making espresso.
The production of drip filter coffee is divided into: hand brewing, siphon, French pressure, and other tools such as Vietnamese pot and smart cup.
The production of espresso is divided into: mocha pot and Italian machine
Both of them need a bean grinder, and the Italian grinding process requires more than drip filtration, so the price is also greatly increased. Of course, there is an exception. The requirement of grinding beans in the mocha pot is not that high, and it is often used to cook individual items, so it is also a tool between Italian style and dripping filtration.
So let's first take a look at what is needed for hand-brewed coffee in dripping coffee.
First, the upper cup and filter paper
Today, the development of the upper cup by hand has been very diversified, from the ordinary three-hole and two-hole to the V60 single-hole series produced by HARIO, and then to the new blue filter cup of kalita, the material is ever-changing from resin to ceramic to glass, and of course the function is the same, all used for loading powder and filter paper.

V60

Glass V60, available in six colors
Among them, the blue filter cup is a new product, and only Jialu Dream can be seen in China, and the price is not cheap.
While the prices of three holes and V60 vary according to their respective materials, resins generally range from 30 yuan to 40 yuan, ceramics range from 80 yuan to 100 yuan, and glass V60 is also a new product, with prices ranging from 100 yuan to 120 yuan.
Of course, there are some very alternative products, such as kalita copper material and enamel material, domestic relatively rare not one by one examples.
All kinds of upper cups need to be equipped with corresponding filter paper.
Blue filter paper is quite special, you can take a look at figure 3
V60 filter paper
Three-hole filter paper
It is worth noting that the last cup is divided into sizes: 101, 102, 103, the corresponding filter paper is also divided into the above model. The 101 model is generally recommended for household use.
The price of filter paper generally ranges from 30 yuan to 35 yuan per 100 sheets.
In addition to the traditional filter paper filtration, there is also flannel filtration. Compared with the two: the filter cup is easier to clean, but for sensitive people, filter paper taste and environmental protection is a problem; flannel taste is relatively mellow, the disadvantage is difficult to clean, high cost.
Flannel sloshing
HARIO flannel (three-piece package), Taobao 80 dollars, you can buy more than 200 pieces of filter paper of the same brand.
There are also some strange cups, such as the Swiss gold KF-2Plus 4, which was originally used in the American machine, and students who think the filter paper is tasteful or not environmentally friendly can also choose. It is easier to clean than flannel and basically does not need to be replaced as long as it is not squeezed hard. The disadvantage is that due to the metal filter, it is inevitable that a little bit of coffee powder will be filtered into it.
The first one on the right is the three-hole installation of Swiss gold KF-2 in kalita ceramics. KF-2 can also be used alone with lovely pots.
2. Thin-nosed kettle
Hand punching requires a steady and fine flow, so the thin-mouth pot is a must. The thin-mouth pot is generally made of stainless steel, and a small number of products are made of copper or enamel (mainly kalita and tiamo). Since hand punching is a very temperature-sensitive way of making, some small-nosed pots also have their own thermometers.

The famous KALITA copper pot is expensive.
Novices generally recommend small spout pots with relatively large capacity (for example: 900CC), which are relatively easy to control.
Third, sharing pot
This is an optional part, and a glass of the right caliber is also easy to use at home. Of course, in order to accurately control the concentration and content of the extraction, a scaled sharing pot is also needed.
Yami's sharing pot is cheap and practical.
Hario sharing pot, the price is slightly higher, the quality is very good!
Some manufacturers also offer sets of hand-made cups and sharing pots:
The personal hario animation set is very popular with MM.
After the manual introduction, here is the siphon pot.
Relatively speaking, the siphon pot is relatively familiar to everyone. Yami, Tiamo and Hario are mainly used in China.
In terms of price, Yami and Tiamo are slightly lower, Hario is higher, and the siphon needs to be heated by fire. Considering the quality of the glass, it is recommended that we choose the siphon pot of Hario. Generally divided into one person, two people, three people, one person because the process requires a higher price, and two people and three people price is about the same. It is recommended to choose three people directly.
Hario siphon pot, the price is about 300
In addition to brewing coffee, siphon can also make milk tea and herbal tea.
Siphon stoves are generally given away, and fuel can be easily purchased.
The French kettle is a relatively simple, convenient and stable tool, in addition to being easy to use in the office, testing coffee is also a good choice.
The famous brand of French pressure is BODUM, which is the French kettle sold by Starbucks. In addition, HARIO also offers several pressure pots, generally speaking, the filter mesh of the BODUM pressure kettle is fine, which can effectively filter coffee powder, which is a good choice.

Among the three mainstream drip filtration tools: the layers made by hand are more rich, while the thickness of alcohol absorbed by siphon is better, and the legal pressure retains the original taste of coffee to the greatest extent, but the taste is a little muddy. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Which one you choose depends on what you like.
Of course, there are other tools to choose from, such as Vietnamese pots.

Espresso has always been popular all over the world, and most people know that Nestle is cappuccino, the former is instant, and the latter is espresso.
It is not easy to get a qualified espresso. Due to the small boiler and unstable air pressure and temperature, it is necessary to work harder to make a good cup of concentration.
The low-end brands of household machines are generally: Cankun and Huijia. This type of machine usually does not have a boiler, only a heating block, and the advantage is that it heats quickly. The downside is: unstable. If you are interested, you can search by yourself.
Cankun's two best-selling models
Huijia 210
If you go to the next level, it will be the turn of some big brands from abroad, such as the Silvia,Oscar, the two classic models. Both models have commercial cooking heads, Oscar and even double boilers. The disadvantage is that the capacity of the boiler is small, especially the Silvia of a single boiler.
The most classic two household machines, which can make qualified espresso, the price is about 5000-6000.
If you are a true espresso lover, you shouldn't miss it: GLY Shuttl and Expobar Office Leva 1GR 2Boilers Rotation, both use E61 brewing head and double boilers, the difference is that the former uses a vibrating pump and the rear uses a rotary pump that can only be used by a professional machine.
Powerful household machines are now produced domestically. The price of GLY is generally 8000, while the rotary pump of Expobar twin boilers is more than 1W.
These are some semi-automata, which require certain requirements for operation. if you don't have any determination to practice hard, even the best machine will be in vain, but if you want to drink espresso, there are other options, such as automata, automata are more expensive than semi-automatic, products at the same price are not as important as semi-automatic, but worry is more important than anything else.
Delong and GAGGI's full automata
JURA, a brand of household machines from Switzerland, can be seen below: http://coffeesalon.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=12025&
In addition to automata, there are capsule machines and POD machines to choose from.
Nestle capsule machine, small and fashionable, the product is simple and convenient. Here's the review: http://coffeesalon.com/bbs/viewthread.php?
DF's Pod machine, in addition to coffee, there are all kinds of tea POD.
The products of capsule machine and POD machine are quite good, which I think is better than automata, and the shelf life of capsule and POD is also longer, which is suitable for students who occasionally have a cup. The disadvantage is that capsules and POD are expensive and not easy to buy.
-Mocha pot
Mocha pot is a tool used by Italians for home production. I always misunderstood the mocha pot and thought that the coffee I made was unpalatable, but it has changed a lot since I went to the WILL's Cafe in Shanghai. Students in Shanghai can go for a drink. Italian Biloti "BIALETTI" has been in a leading position in the field of coffee maker production for more than 50 years. Until today,
A Billerty cow mocha pot that can be made directly into Cabo.
Let's talk about a very important tool for coffee making: the bean grinder.
The bean grinder is a tool that has always been undervalued. Many people choose a very high-end coffee machine but choose a very bad bean grinder. The uniformity of coffee powder is very poor, in fact, it still can't make good coffee.
Bean grinder is divided into hand mill and electric mill.
The main products that are easy to buy in China are positive sloshing and Hario, in which Hario is made of ceramic grinding core with good uniformity, so it is worth using.
Sloshing bean mill
Hario ceramic core grinding
There are many kinds of electric mill, and the requirement of drip filtration is relatively low, while the requirement of Italian coffee is higher for bean grinder.
We generally recommend Pegasus 600N and SolisS166.
Pegasus 600N from Taiwan, the shape is very familiar, up to more than 3000 yuan Fuji R220, down to more than 400 yuan of positive sloshing, are all this shape.
The Solis166 for personal use has the advantages of low static electricity, convenient grinding and good uniformity. The disadvantage is that the thickest scale is also relatively fine.
The entry choice of Italian style is Huijia's ZD-15.
The price is cheap, the fineness meets the Italian requirements, the uniformity is general, and the static electricity is large.
