Sumatra Indonesia Mantenin Fine Coffee Mantenin G1 Coffee Bean Determination
I believe everyone has bought different Mantenin G1 beans, so how on earth is this G1 determined? according to my inquiry on this trip to Indonesia, I finally have the right answer.
The literal meaning of G1 is GRADE 1, and the literal Chinese translation means first-class, so people feel that as long as the beans of G1 should be of the same quality, it is a big mistake. In Indonesia, all raw bean exporters, and even coffee associations, do not have the same selection and grading criteria, and in Indonesia, all beans are not screened according to the size of the beans, but are selected on the basis of defects. Each family has its own standard, what is clean. However, because of the popularity of "zero defect", some people sift out small grains of good beans and call them "zero defect" beans, which is a bit too radical, because really good beans are not determined by the size of the particles.
We should use the quality to determine the quality of beans, not the beauty and ugliness of appearance. The most important thing is that because of the difference in altitude, the quality of beans produced in the same producing area is obviously different, even a difference of only 100 meters. There is also a big difference in taste. It is impossible for the same coffee tree to bear fruit of the same size, so we are advised not to rely solely on the shape of beans, but to see how the quality is determined.
