The famous coffee aristocrat of Blue Mountain Coffee.
Blue Mountain Coffee is probably one of the best-known local coffees, and even now in China, drinking a cup of Blue Mountain Coffee can be a symbol of status and taste. In fact, the main reason why Blue Mountain Coffee is so expensive is its low yield and the persistent love of it by the Japanese.
The origin of authentic Blue Mountain Coffee in Jamaica refers to the coffee producing areas of St. Andrew, St. Thomas, St. Mary and Portland in Jamaica at elevations of 1000 to 1700 meters above sea level. The total area of this area is about 6100 hectares. The annual output of coffee is about 6100 to 600tons, of which more than 90 per cent is monopolized by the Japanese, and many of the rest are in German hands. Most of the authentic Blue Mountains drunk in China are bought from the Japanese. Even if it is located in this area, the one at an altitude of 500m to 1000 m cannot be called Blue Mountain Coffee, it can only be called Jamaican Alpine Coffee, and the one below 500m above sea level is Jamaica's preferred coffee. So real blue mountain coffee accounts for only about 25% of Jamaica's total coffee production.
At present, Jamaican coffee generally uses water washing or semi-washing to treat coffee fruits. Blue Mountain coffee generally has a very beautiful bean shape, uniform particles, and a low proportion of defective beans, but local coffee trees are often plagued by insect pests. so there will be more worm-eaten beans.
The important reason why Blue Mountain Coffee is loved by the Japanese lies in its elegant and soft characteristics. Blue Mountain Coffee generally tastes more balanced and light, leisurely and refined, so we tend to use more beans or less water to improve the concentration of Blue Mountain Coffee, thus better reflecting the flavor of Blue Mountain Coffee.
