In October 1995, Doug Zell and Emily Mange left San Francisco and traveled across North America to Chicago (it was a huge trip) and settled on Broadway north of Chicago, starting a coffee roasting retail store.
At first, they simply hoped to provide excellent, freshly roasted coffee in their own coffee bar with a charming but may need a capricious 12kg roaster. Since then, intellectuals have become stronger and stronger.
Intellectuals have now gone to three cities:

In fact, we love all these cities, but for different reasons! Chicago brings us pragmatism and self-discipline, the West Coast gives us optimism to believe in anything that is possible, and the East Coast gives us endless vitality.
