Hawaii Kona Greenwell XF Grade

In October 2017, selected batches of Kona Kona Coffee Extra Fancy arrived by air from the carefully selected Greenwell estate in Hawaii.

Greenwell Manor, which has a history of 150 years, has participated in and won many awards in Europe and America. Founded by Henry Nicholas Greenwell in the 19th century, 1850, Greenwell is located in Kealakekua, Hawaii County, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Kealakekua is located along Highway 11 between Keauhou and Captain Cook where Captain Cook landed. The manor is already an important coffee attraction, and customers will come to buy coffee, related souvenirs and visit the process of coffee and raw beans. Henry arrived from the United Kingdom but soon began his coffee career and reclamation career. In Europe and North America, he quickly won praise from the top exporters of Kona coffee! In 1873, Green well Manor won the accreditation of the World Exposition in Vienna, and many years later his house with Mother Elizabeth became a museum because it was listed as a monument.

In recent years, but the pest in that area is very serious, we especially asked our old friend Greenwell to select small farmers from the southern high-altitude mountain areas, as long as the quality is good, even if the harvest is late! This batch is only 100 pounds.

The collection of small estates in Kona District, picking out excellent batches from the harvest period, is a very complicated task. If you only pick grades or specify manors when you choose and purchase, although you can be listed first, you will often miss batches of excellent quality, which is a pity! Therefore, it is particularly important to establish a procurement model. Over the past 10 years, we have reached a consensus with Greenwell, a supplier representative in Kona District, that cup testing should give priority to quality first, priority should be given to purchasing small farm batches with high quality and careful attention to detail, batches should be traceable, quality uncompromising, and maintain good interaction.

Greenwell is not only a manor, but also a coffee and cherry processing center on Kona Island. as soon as it is harvested, she begins to buy a lot of coffee cherries and wet them immediately on the same day, while superior batches will be specially marked and the quality will be tested by cup after treatment. since, when the samples are processed in the main harvest season, they will be sent by air, and these batches will be specially marked. For example, the following official grades and batch marks indicate that the grades are: Extra Fancy, as well as the appearance of raw beans and sacks:

Greenwell is the leading brand of Cana coffee, because of its long history, manor planting and raw bean processing equipment and storage scale, it is among the top on the island. Greenwell itself has a 150-acre coffee farm. During the harvest period, it also buys selected coffee cherries from more than 200 estates, which are picked and purchased every day after harvest. On the same day, delicate treatments such as traditional washing and fermentation are carried out on the same day. After the fermentation is finished, drying is done with sun and machine drying in parallel.

The picture above shows the sun treatment field and the constant temperature storage place of raw beans taken during a visit to Greenwell, and stored in different batches.
