One of the numerous award-winning estates of Panama B.O.P over the years, Panama Boquete Elida Estate Washed lot16 Manor of Panama

Robert Lamastus founded Elida Estate in the early 20th century, when he worked for the Panama Canal and heard that Boquete was particularly suitable for growing coffee, so he bought it. Now the estate is run by his grandson Wilford Lamastus, and thanks to Wilford's efforts, Alida has become the premier estate in Panama, often on the final bidding list for "Best Panama". Half of the area is in the "Baru Volcano National Park" (Volcan Baru National Park), is an ecological conservation area, so it has become a habitat for many animals and plants, a variety of rare mammals such as leopards, birds such as long-tailed birds can be seen, the biodiversity is very rich. Baru Volcano is also one of the highest volcanoes in Central America, with seven microclimates at different elevations.

Alida's coffee is only grown to 1850 Michael, and coffee is grown no higher than this altitude in Panama. The rainy season is very long and can last from May to November, with annual rainfall as high as 2400mm and sunny periods from late February to early May. Even in the dry season, the mountains are foggy and humid, with relatively low temperatures and colder nights. Coffee is covered by cloud-shrouded primeval forest all the year round and has a good shade planting environment. Coffee trees in Ilida take longer to harvest from planting saplings, about four and a half to five and a half years (two or three years longer than usual), and the low temperature environment also makes cherries take an extra month to ripen. These factors form the special flavor of coffee. Most of the estates are washed with cherries, and a few are treated by the sun. The method of sun treatment is to leave the coffee beans in the pulp to dry together, so that the taste of the flesh can easily seep into the beans.

In order to dry, the cherry fruit will be moved from the higher altitude planting park to the lower altitude, warmer sun field, which will last for 10 to 12 days. Compared with washing beans, the sun usually has a thicker taste, but the biggest challenge is the fermentation process during the sun exposure. Alida's sun treatment is very delicate, and you can get coffee with complex flavor, strong fruit flavor and full aroma. especially more experienced in dealing with traditional beans iron than card and Kaduai.

In the sun treatment, it will be treated separately according to the harvest date, so each batch is harvested and processed on the same day, with an average of five bags per batch. After about 10-12 days of low-temperature sun exposure, shell beans will be stored in 10-12 ℃ storage for 75-12 days, and will not be shelled and hand-selected until the week of shipment. Choose beans for Taiwan district champion Wu Zelin, who finished seventh in the 2014 WBC World Championships.

Elida Manor is located in the Pokuit producing area of the western border province of Panama. The most famous landmark and tourist attraction of the province is the Baru volcano, which is 3300 meters above sea level. Baru volcano is one of the highest volcanoes in Central America, with a total area of about 1400 hectares. It can be divided into seven different climatic zones according to altitude. There are many rare plants, birds and mammals inhabiting the volcano, so there is a national park to protect it. Hunting and man-made development and destruction are prohibited.

Elida Manor has a total area of 65 hectares, more than half of which are located within the Baru Volcano National Park, 30 hectares of the estate are planted with coffee trees, and the remaining 35 hectares are virgin forests. Coffee plantations range from 1670 to 1850 meters above sea level, making it one of the two highest coffee farms in Panama. At such a high altitude, the low temperature delayed the ripening of the coffee berries, about a month later than the normal ripening period, while the fertile volcanic soil provided sufficient nutrients for the coffee, coupled with the excellent microclimate from the Baru volcano, Elida Manor was able to achieve good results in cup test competitions.

Manor Alida, Panama (Finca Elida)

Located in the well-known boutique coffee producing area of Panama.

The elevation of the manor is quite high, and the average number of batches we purchase is about m

Alida Manor itself is in the National Park Reserve.

The manor has always maintained a very primitive forest appearance.

At the same time, many native tree species and edible tomato and plum fruit trees are preserved.

Due to environmental protection in Alida Manor

Therefore, no asphalt was paved, and the 4X4 off-road vehicle of the owner Wilford was driving in the manor.

As the altitude is getting higher and higher, the temperature decreases obviously.

The cold and cool temperature and the protection of shade trees also provide a good environment for coffee trees to grow.

In addition to the strict maintenance of the manor environment

Wilford also experimented with quite a variety of sun exposure methods.

This batch is a micro batch made of African scaffolding sunlight.

In the stage of sun drying

Wilford requires workers to carefully pick out defective beans that are not good enough.

In addition, the Alida Manor is also divided quite carefully in further batches.

Each batch of red fruit harvested from the manor will be numbered differently.

It is convenient to track the batch quality and flavor level in the subsequent cup testing stage.

The raw beans purchased are all introduced to the selected batches of the manor with excellent flavor.

Elida is located in Panama's western border province.

Pokuit producing area (Boquete) in Chiriki province (Chiriqui)

The most famous landmark and tourist attraction in the province is altitude.

The 3300-meter Baru volcano, which is one of the highest volcanoes in Central America.

The total area is about 14000 hectares, which can be divided into 7 different microclimatic regions according to altitude.

There are many rare plants, birds and mammals living in the volcano.

Therefore, it is set up for the protection of national parks, forbidding hunting and man-made development and destruction.

The Pokuit producing area is located on the east side of the Baru volcano.

It's a valley area that flows through lava.

Next to the volcano in the Vulcan Valley (Volcan Valley), another well-known coffee producing area in Panama.

Pokuit has always been the most high-profile coffee producer in Panama.

There are many world-famous manors in the area-Jade Manor (Esmeralda).

Hartman Manor (Hartman) of the Best of Panama victorious army,

Mamakata (Mama Cata), Kotwa (Kotowa),

St. Teresa Manor (Santa Teresa)... Etc.

And Alida Manor itself is Pocket.

One of the heavyweight star manors in the producing area

He has won Best of Panama awards in the last five years.

Outstanding record, second only to Jade Manor (Esmeralda)

Elida, owned by the Lamastus family, began growing coffee in 1918

In addition to growing coffee in the garden, now except for Elida.

There is another Einbro Manor (El Burro)

The two estates can enter the bidding in 2015, with a total of seven beans.

In addition to coffee, many native tree species have also been planted

Not only shade the coffee, but also protect the ecology.

This family treats coffee trees with artificial fertilization.

Refuse to use herbicides and pesticides that damage the environment

At present, coffee trees are planted in addition to Kaduai, Tibica and bourbon.

Also began to grow geisha a few years ago.

Even though there are many kinds of coffee in the manor

Kaduai is still used to participate in the Best of Panama competition, and good results have been handed down repeatedly.

It can be seen that the geographical environment and treatment technology of its manor are excellent.

Alida Manor itself is a star manor in Pokuit.

It is one of the two highest coffee farms in Panama.

(another estate with such elevations should be Carmen Manor in the Vulcan Valley.)

The manor covers a total area of 65 hectares, more than half of which are located in Baru Volcano National Park.

Among them, only 30 hectares grow coffee, and the remaining 35 hectares are virgin forests.

Because of its high altitude, years of low temperature delayed the ripening of coffee berries

But also because it is located near the volcano, the volcanic soil provides rich nutrients for cultivated coffee.

So that the coffee beans of this manor can achieve good results in the competition.

This batch of coffee has the purest original flavor.

Because of the unique coffee processing technology of Alida Manor

This batch of coffee is different from the previous washing treatment and is treated in the sun.

Extracted from high-altitude Kaduai coffee beans with strong humidity

The most traditional sun treatment is more suitable than the famous water washing treatment of Alida Manor.
