Guatemala's first CoE Champion Estate Guatemala Finca Las Nubes (2001 CoE No.1)

Finca las Nubes, (Small farm in the clouds.)This coffee is made in the clouds!

Las Nubes 'name meant that it was located in a small manor, Yunwu Manor. Compared to the old manor that was hundreds of years old in Gua Country, Las Nubes looked young and immature. She was only 30 years old! However, in 2001, Guatemala's first National CoE Competition changed her fate, and coffee people all over the world learned that the original New Oriental District of Guatemala also had such excellent coffee! Cloud Manor won the first place in the first national competition in 2001!

When we learned that Las Nubes champion from New Oriental District, it greatly opened the history of foreign buyers chasing boutique estates outside Antigua. The old father estate bought for the first time last year was also the first top 10! The following picture shows the latest batch of Las Nubes 2007 raw beans and the words "Manor" on the sack:

When I got the sample in 2001, I was amazed at it. It turned out that Antigua and Vivi Plateau were not the only top-grade beans. When I visited the National Association of Cafe (ANACAFE) in Guatemala the next year', I was careful and the chief cup tester, Edu Lado.(César Eduardo Ambrocio), arranged 13 final estates for us to drink. He also apologized that two raw beans were gone, so only these 13 could be supplied because there were 15 estates in the first finals. He listened to me describe some of the views of Yunwu Manor, and the interesting changes in the taste of the wine at that time and the sample he just received in 2001. The conversation instantly opened up. The two people became friends since then. This year, they also served as judges for Colombia CoE and Bolivia together. What's more, after we left Bolivia one after the other, he was invited to visit Taiwan and had a wonderful cup test explanation at Yunwu University!

The experience of drinking Las Nubes many times has prompted me to pay attention to her movements every year. In fact, it is not only her,

The top 15 estates of the first Guatemala CoE competition, if possible, I will continue to track their annual flavor changes, as well as the growth and adjustment of the estate, progress and so on! Over the years, I have bought the first winning manor one after another, and Yunwu Manor has always been the one I am most interested in. The year before last, due to the shortage of goods very early, these two years, I placed an order immediately after receiving the sample cup test and confirming the quality OK. I finally received the goods a few days ago.

A little background information:

Finca Las Nubes, i.e. Cloud Estate, is located in Aldea La Granadilla, Esquipulas Mountain area of Guatemala. The administrative area belongs to Chiquimula, about 240 kilometers west of the capital city of Guatemala. According to the production classification of Anna Coffee Association, she belongs to the New Oriental District, not far from Honduras; The elevation of the manor is as high as 1500 meters, and there are many tall cypresses around the manor, which is also the habitat of many rare birds. Due to the high altitude in the New Oriental District and the large temperature difference, the coffee cherry grows very slowly, forming her unique rich citrus sweet fragrance. This is also the main factor why she can get the high score of 96 points in the first international evaluation and be called "the best coffee in Guatemala in 2001"!

The first Guatemala CoE Competition in 2001 initially had 256 manors. After preliminary screening, a total of 105 manors entered the preliminary competition of the domestic evaluation cup. Under the leadership of the chief judge, 41 manors entered the international evaluation cup competition stage. After 3 days of hard multi-round cup testing by the international evaluation, only 15 manors entered the final, and Yunwu Manor was the champion of that year!

After winning the championship in 2001, Don Fabio Solis and Dona Sonia worked together with children to improve the plantation management of the estate and launched the "Ecological Tour". Visitors can come to Cloud Manor to take a 4X4 car, climb, drop, observe the ecology, participate in coffee harvesting and processing, etc., an in-depth coffee tour.
