Introduction to Brazilian Coffee

Traditionally, Brazil distinguishes the origin of coffee by province: (Brazil has 21 states and 17 states produce coffee, but five of them produce the largest, accounting for 98% of Brazil's total output.) there are a wide variety of Brazilian coffee. Like other Arabica coffee, the vast majority of Brazilian coffee is not washed but dried, classified according to the name of the state of origin and the port of transport. There are five different provinces / producing areas:

Parana (Parana)

Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo)

Rio

Esprito (Espirito Santo)

Bashiya (Bahia)

★ super producing area-South Minas ★

With the establishment of the Brazilian Fine Coffee Association (BSCA), it has changed the difference between the five major provinces in the past. in order to distinguish each geographical environment and microclimatic conditions into coffee beans with their own characteristics, the Brazilian Fine Coffee Association began to make more refined classification and nomenclature, and the labeling of micro-producing areas enabled coffee beans to be traced back to more detailed and accurate production resumes.

Three of the most popular areas of concern for boutique coffee makers:

Sul de Minas- South Minas (Minas province)

Mogiana- Morgiana (Sao Paulo province)

Chipada Diamantina Diamond Highlands (Basiya Province)

These three producing areas almost guarantee the award batches of COE every year!

Queen's Manor

The CarvalhoDias family, a founding member of the Brazilian Fine Coffee Association, has operated the Queen's Manor since 1890. Gabriel de CarvalhoDias, the nephew of the owner, is now in charge of management. The estate is close to MinasGerais, with a high and rolling slope, unable to harvest by mechanized farming due to geographical constraints, and coffee planting and picking is carried out entirely manually. It is located between 1100 and 1500 meters above sea level, with an average annual rainfall of 1800 to 2000 mm and an average annual temperature of about 19 degrees Celsius, which is an ideal condition for coffee growing. the raw beans are solid and have a good flavor. Carefully grasp every operation flow from planting, care and picking to post-processing, and the Queen's Manor puts in full efforts to produce high-quality raw coffee beans.

Maintaining excellent quality and unique flavor under the management of Regina Helena Mello de Carvalho Dias and family members has also made the manor the winner of the Brazilian Coe Cup Test Competition on the list in 2000, 2001 and 2005, and won the Brazilian COE championship in 2011.

In the past two years, the top three prizes in the Brazilian Outstanding Cup Competition have almost been awarded by Huang Bourbon, becoming the new darling of the boutique coffee industry.

Yellow Bourbon is a yellow bark variety (bourbon variety) peculiar to the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Generally, coffee cherries turn red after ripening, but yellow bourbon does not turn red after ripening, so it is named after showing orange. Very sweet and touching!
