Arabica coffee is native to Ethiopia or the Arabian Peninsula. The characteristic is fragrant but not strong, thick but not bitter. Coffee cultivation in China is concentrated in Yunnan Province and Hainan Province. Yunnan has a large output, accounting for more than 90% of the national output.
Today, the development of Yunnan coffee industry has to thank the person who once planted the first coffee seed, he is---French missionary Tian Deneng. In 1902, Tian Deneng planted the first coffee tree when he delivered the gospel in Zhukula Village, Binchuan, Dali. As a result, coffee crops entered remote Yunnan for the first time. The ancestor of this seed was personally presented to Louis XIV of France when the mayor of Amsterdam visited France in 1714. Therefore, Yunnan's first coffee tree species, from the root has been born with the aristocratic lineage.
So why is Yunnan coffee called Arabica coffee? There are three common coffee varieties: Arabica, Robusta and Liberia. The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture divides the three varieties into small, medium and large according to the size of the fruit. Large grains are widely distributed and of poor quality, originating in Liberia; medium grains are mainly used for instant coffee production, originating in Central Africa; small grains are first cultivated in Cameroon and Guinea Plateau, and later introduced into Latin America and Asia, and are also the best varieties.
Because Yunnan natural conditions and Colombia are very similar, that is, low latitude, high altitude, temperature difference between day and night, produced by cup quality analysis, coffee belongs to alcohol flavor, its quality taste is similar to Colombia coffee.
At present, many people in the coffee industry are constantly improving the production of Yunnan fine coffee, discovering and innovating again and again from the planting process, drying and washing, and roasting, making Yunnan coffee base one of the important exporting countries that the United States and other developed countries compete to buy.
